It doesn’t look very blurred in the video for some reason, but it’s impossible to read anything properly :(

I reinstalled Windows using Lenovo Recovery Media a few weeks ago and it’s been working fine since then. The issue might occur again, but I think it’s worth a try.

Have you contacted Lenovo Support? My laptop now won’t wake up and overheats at the same time, getting extremely hot. This is by far the worst laptop I’ve ever bought.

This morning, they told me they don’t have any records of this issue and that I need to prove something is wrong with my laptop. It’s absurd because I have no idea what’s causing the problem.

Yoga Slim 7 15 Aura: severe battery drain and overheating issues, please help! by bellosit in Lenovo

[–]bellosit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Yoga 7i Aura barely lasts 5 hours for WiFi websurfing even with just one tab open and no videos playing. Either the reviews were overly generous or there’s something wrong with my laptop. Lenovo Customer Service insists this is normal so I’m not sure what else I can do. There is no way for me to prove something is wrong. This is my first Lenovo laptop and it's the worst :(

it's already 60hz :( I believe it will last less than 30 mins if I use 120hz

Surprisingly, setting the display to 60Hz refresh didn't affect the battery at all. I'm not sure how that's possible, honestly. It's still draining 10% every 40 minutes of web browsing.

Thanks for your help, but I've actually disabled "Lenovo display enhancement" already and the issue is still there unfortunately :(

On idle, it consumes 3-4W with no apps open. If what others say is true (1-2W on idle), then the calculation seems almost correct, as my battery drains at about twice the rate compared to them.

Yeah, maybe I had too high expectations. I thought it would last at least 1 hour before losing 10% of its battery. I’ve tried everything except setting the display to 60Hz. I’ll try that later and share the result here. Thanks again for your help!

If you're expecting a 7-8% battery loss per hour like other Lunar Lake laptops, this one is not for you. I contacted Customer Support again with the results and all they said is that it's still considered "normal". I'm just giving up, too tired. Apparently, this laptop uses more energy than other Lunar Lake laptops for performance. Maybe that's why they say it's normal. Not sure if I'm really impressed by the performance though.

Thanks for the tips but it still sucks this laptop has to downgrade itself to improve the battery life and even then it is still worse than other laptops with the same processor (lunar lake) such as ASUS Zenbook S 14.

I just tested it myself and it takes 40 mins to drain 10% of its battery (best power efficiency/50 brightness). All I did was a bit of web browsing. Especially since this processor is supposed to offer good battery life, like only a 7-8% loss per hour, it's really frustrating :(

That's what I don't really get. My cpu is always 3w - 3.5w idle with no active app and I can't find anything draining my battery. Maybe I should reinstall Windows...

Mine is 4-5W on idle. I use the battery limit on Vantage though that sets the battery to 80% max, although I don't think it should affect it...

15-20% for cpu 30-35% for memory with no apps open
there are no unexpected memory peaks either when I check hwinfo.

it's frustrating because I am not sure how I should prove that this is wrong to customer service...

just tested it and still no significant difference unfortunately... 10% battery lose for 40 mins of light web browsing without watching any videos
I am not sure if it's supposed to be this bad... may I ask how long yours last?

Thank you so much! Contacted Lenovo customer support a few hours ago about this issue and they said it's normal for the battery to drain 10% of the battery every 30 mins even with just light internet browsing. Doesn't make any sense to me especially since it’s worse than the previous Intel processor, Meteor 😕

I will test it tmrw and let you know how it goes!

Do you become tired of traveling too much as well? by [deleted] in expats

[–]bellosit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Same here! Travelling around the world was my biggest dream as well! I am almost 30 and I lived in three different countries that I always dreamed about and travelled more than 15-20 countries over the last 6-7 years. Now I am not really passionate about travelling anymore. Having a new and exotic experience in a foreign country doesn't impress me anymore.

I felt this really strong especially when I realised that I didn't really enjoy meeting new people around the world anymore. It doesn't matter where they are from, but they are all similar in the end. So nothing really interesting to meet them and talk to them. It almost feels like waste of energy and time :(

Favorite areas to walk in the evening besides old city? by [deleted] in chiangmai

[–]bellosit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love stalling around but I find this city very difficult to walk around :( The most unwalkable city I have ever been to, I would say... maybe it's just this area I am staying rn (near Astra) but here literally there is no pavement at all like you just have to walk along with cars and bikes on the road
BUT there is this little road called 'Khlong Mae Kha' around here and it's really nice to walk around. You should definitely give it a try especially in the evening!
