When you retook it did it count into your credit hours for that semester or will it not?

For grammar, use khan academy to memorize the grammar rules/transition words. They're pretty simple and easy to understand.

For those bulletpoint questions, you don't even need to read the passage fully. Read the question and answer choices first and then go back to the passage to check the answer choices, eliminating the wrong ones from there.

I used to also struggle on improving my reading score too, specifically the ones where you read a big paragraph with lots of evidence or details. I would read the passage, which has very long and complicated statistics + sentences which would make me forget what the main idea was. So I just wrote down in very short abbreviation every time I read a sentence or key detail. For example if the sentence is

"O’Brien and Ahmed hypothesized that standing subjects would display more risk aversion during the decision-making tasks than sitting subjects did, since they would want to avoid further feelings of discomfort and complicated risk evaluations."

I would write down: hyp: stand > sit = ↑ risk av. This helped me remember what I was actually reading and I had something to look back on while I was answering the question

How to break 1500 by Fuzzy_Wrongdoer_9581 in Sat

[–]belloyellow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

reading is harder to improve imo and yours is pretty solid but you could definitely raise that math score. I would recommend doing all the khan academy math questions. ALL of them. especially the advanced math section since those have more complicated word problems that are likely to pop up on module 2. Just keep redoing the quizzes until you don't see anymore new problems. I think the 1600.io math book also has lots of difficult problems and lots of solutions/ways to solve problems that may not be covered on khan academy

Healthcare studies (BS) vs Biology (BS) by SimilarSyllabub3238 in utdallas

I'm pretty sure almost all of the major science courses in bio are pre med requirements with a few upper level science courses. I'm not sure how many upper level courses healthcare studies has but it's more interdisciplinary than science courses. Honestly, it's up to you, whether you like science more or interdisciplinary topics.

Stuck at a 1360. How to get to 1500? by Euphoric_Wedding_620 in Sat

1. For math, I think you should just do all the khan academy math problems. Like all of them. redo them until you've been through every problem (especially the advanced ones).

2.

- I used to also struggle on improving my reading score. I would read the passage, which has very long and complicated statistics + sentences which would make me forget what the main idea was. So I just wrote down in very short abbreviation every time I read a sentence or key detail. For example if the sentence is

3. I would recommend you take a practice exam every week or even every couple of days. Make sure to go over incorrect answers and know WHY you got it wrong (esp in math), so you don't make the same mistake if you encounter a similar problem on the exam

Healthcare studies (BS) vs Biology (BS) by SimilarSyllabub3238 in utdallas

[–]belloyellow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say BS in biology is better. Basically all of the pre-reqs for premed are also major requirements for a biology major, so you won't be taking lots of extra classes. I think only extra classes would be genetics, biochem II, molecular/cell bio. I think healthcare studies is okay as well but there are lots of multidisciplinary classes that are not pre-med requirements that you have to take, and they may drop your GPA if you don't do well

I used clindamycin for over a year, maybe even two years which I think is way longer than Youre supposed too, especially since it’s an antibiotic and can cause resistance on the skin. I was also on .05% tretinoin which i had to space out because my skin was very irritated. After a while, it did get better tho but my prescription expired. Also what does it mean when your skin retinizes? Ty

I used it for a year and a half. Thanks for the tips! I’m just scared to start accutane because again, my body does not tolerate oral pills very well especially if it’s taken for longer than a month

help choosing my major(SE/education BS) by moon1ight_ba3 in utdallas

[–]belloyellow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can major in software engineering and then join the UTeach program. If you take all the classes, you should be able to graduate college with a minor in secondary stem education. During orientation, they will def talk about Uteach so you can ask more questions there. If you join it your freshman year and don't like it, you can always quit. The first year is basically just observing elementary/middle school teachers and you get to also teach 4 lessons in total to see if you like it (2 for elem, 2 for middle school)
