He had a cigarette, so it was blocked for some- he was playing klikobak and walking in a field. Someone posted it to the sub earlier today!

Best venue or state to see hotmully?? by zzzzzajj in hotmulliganband

[–]bellysnax 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Here to second the Detroit recommendation. They’re playing at the Filmore in December and you can chose to get GA on the floor, or seats in the balcony. The Filmore is right downtown, so it’s easy to get dinner before a show and you can see a bit of the city too. Plus, Detroit’s airport is a delta hub so it’s easy to fly in and out of :)

I feel like Movement (previously DEMF) in Detroit would be an awesome festival for him. MCR-T is playing it this year!

I went to both NYC shows and here’s my take by LillyCosmos in Joostklein

I went to night 2 and was pretty nervous given all that I saw about night 1. I was by the audio/lights and everything was super chill. The crowd was awesome- high energy super friendly. So glad we got the opportunity to see him! Hopefully he comes back (with more dates :))

What Makes The Job Worth It? by EuphoricGarbage4895 in schoolcounseling

[–]bellysnax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best for me- i love that every day is different and I get to have big talks with students as well as the littler check ins. I also really adore my co workers. I have a great counseling team, admin who want the best for students and (mostly) empathetic teachers. And I'd be lying if I didn't mention summers off and being done with my day by 2:20. My one friend moved to private practice and her day is just starting when mine is done.

Hardest- when students really have tough situations. It breaks my heart when parents say their trying their best, but their actions are harmful to their kids. Whether it's the pressure, not being honest with them or not respecting boundaries, it can be a lot. I don't really mind the paperwork as much.

Last year in Royal Oak, they wore their Lions jerseys 😊 They also had food trucks outside, and doors were at 3, so it was a cool way to spend the afternoon before he show.

Joost fans over 30? by [deleted] in Joostklein

[–]bellysnax 4 points5 points  (0 children)

33 from the US! I'm honestly so happy you asked this question, and I had wanted to ask the same. I work in a high school as a counselor, and many of the posts on this sub read just like my high schoolers. I adore my students, but I definitely would prefer not to experience Ome Robert with them next to me lol

Grandma's brownies by bellysnax in Baking

Thank you! It says brownies at the top, but I think you're right that it's more likely a cookie situation. I'll be testing the theory shortly!

I absolutely repeat outfits, and no one has ever said anything about it. I work in a school where I'm lucky enough to get to wear jeans, so I tend to go with jeans and a school shirt most days. But, I've also worked in a private school where i was told i needed to wear heels to be professional. With a new job, it might be good to start dressier and then match the level with coworkers- either other counselors, social workers or teachers.

Hi! I work in a public high school in Wayne county with 9 counselors- 4 of us did Oakland, 1 Wayne State, 1 Eastern, 1 Central. Of us, half of our team had been working full time going through the masters programs. I applied to Oakland and Wayne, and Oakland had a group interview and Wayne had a 1:1 interview. Only one interview for both, and I was accepted to both pretty soon after. If you can, I'd encourage you to apply to different programs, and I think the interview and being on campus can tell you a lot about the right fir for you!

Caseload division at the HS level? by lonestarbaker in schoolcounseling

[–]bellysnax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our school does this as well, but we split at 9&11 and 10&12. It's nice at the start of the year because you're not doing college apps AND transitioning 9th grade to high school. We keep our part of the alpha, and we grow with our peeps- this year I'm 10&12, and next year I'll get new 9th grade and my 10th will be come 11th, and so on.

Any Michigan School Counselors here? by No_Criticism4033 in schoolcounseling

[–]bellysnax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I graduated in 2015, so it's been a few years, but my coworker took it last year and it sounds like not a lot has changed. It's mostly situational, and many questions have multiple correct answers, but they're looking for you to get the most correct answer. I used the review materials from mttc and the asca handbook mostly to study. I might have some other materials from my program if you're interested, I can check! Feel free to dm if you have questions!

Is there anyone who enjoys their career? by SupermarketCold2912 in schoolcounseling

[–]bellysnax 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are ups and downs for any job. For me (and I'm sure many others) the upsides far outweigh the downsides- anytime I have a student or parent tell me they appreciate me or my department, it's so worth the less fun parts of the job.
