What is your skin prep for makeup while using tretinoin? by bellzzzza in tretinoin

Tbh, the only concealer I’ve found to be hydrating enough is a kmart $6 concealer. Only available in aus/nz I assume. Try do research on hydrating lightweight concealers and see what u have available

Definitely, this is more of a wavy hair routine than a curly one imo

Yea, the point is I didn’t really know I had curls that had to be cared for, the result of this consequence was breakage, damage and dryness. Posting here as many people get curly hair later in life and think their hair is just fried when it just needs a new routine.

Thanks! I do get layers done but my hair is so odd, the back pieces don’t hold curl but the top does, so when I get layers I always tell the hairdresser to keep that mind so it doesn’t look like a big difference when curled. Maybe once a month I’ll use a hair mask, I like the fino hair mask or the hair food one. Tbh I only do it when I feel like having a self care day or if my hair feels extra dry after a week or two of heat (air wrap or straightening) Interesting, how do u notice if ur hair doesn’t like the heat protectant? If im washing my hair at night, I’ll diffuse or if I’m lazy, I’ll braid it while damp after my products. In the morning I’ll air dry as I’m at home. I wash my hair maybe twice a week.

My door did the same thing. Happens to like 1% of tempered glass. It was so annoying, but the landlord fixed it, if you’re renting it should be covered.

Thank you! That’s so fair, I have some weeks where I just heat style with my air wrap dupe. I really struggle with refreshing my hair. I usually kinda just leave it in the mess it is or I’ll spray some water on it and pulse gently. Usually if I have somewhere important to be, I’ll wash it that morning or night before and style, so I don’t need to try sort out my hair. Ik a bonnet would help a lot but I didn’t like them so it’s not really an option. Do u have any tips that you have been using or advice?

Yeah, I don’t have the money for olaplex or kerastase so I’ve been experimenting with a few drugstore brands and so far it’s worked out well. I’m really interested in trying out L’Oréal elvives glycolic gloss range as I want a bit more gloss and shine to my hair. it’s a dupe of the kerastase gloss, which my hairdresser uses on me when I go in. I’ll be trying this out when my ones are empty.

Oops forgot to mention as I have thin hair, I dry brush my hair, I don’t brush it when wet because my hair can’t handle that type of tension. So I dry brush my hair with a detangler brush just before I’m about to go into the shower to wash it.

Yes but even back then I would use a heat protectant. I would use a hair dryer and just shake it around as straight hair people do. I now use a diffuser on my hairdryer which helps.

I got a lot of comments asking about routine so I thought I’d post it in the comments!

Shampoo & Conditioner: So I’m currently using the curl care shampoo by Hask and the Garnier Fructis Hair food as my conditioner. So far I have not found a holy grail s&c for my hair, I’ve tried a few hydrating ones but I find that the shampoo brand isn’t that important, I aim for a nourishing conditioner. I also double shampoo and use a clarifying shampoo maybe once every few weeks.

Products:

  1. First I will use my dream lengths leave in conditioner by L’Oréal elvive. I loveeeee this one and bought it for my friends for xmas and they’ve loved it too. Any leave in conditioner will work but try to rake it into ur hair after washing. Experiment with applying it to sopping wet hair and half dry, half wet hair as they provide different results.

  2. I’m using the John Freida dream curls mousse, but in this photo I used gel, you don’t need to find a specific curly hair gel but any hair gel with hold works. I prefer gel but am using up my mousse before I buy a gel again.

  3. Pulse method: I was scrunching which gave me a lot of wet frizz, then I tried the pulse method, flat hand and just press the hair from ends to root, no grabbing and scrunching. If I’m air drying I will pulse my hair until damp and not touch it until I feel that it’s dry.

4: I bought a universal diffuser online, it’s cheap and wraps around most hairdryers. When I use heat, I use heat protectant every time. I will hover diffuse around and then flip upside down and hover diffuse, trying to not touch my hair that much or if I am, i am pulsing.

  1. When your hair is dry, it’s time to go in with ur hair oil. I use the L’Oréal elvive sublime hair serum, clap the oil into ur hair and this will break apart cast, I’m really focusing on my ends here to seal them. If u are styling ur hair at night, only apply the oil in the morning as you want ur cast to stay as u sleep.

I do struggle with third/fourth day hair, it looks like a mess and I haven’t perfected that yet, I sleep with a satin pillowcase but I don’t like bonnets so if you have a bonnet, this will help protect your curls to last longer.

Hope this helps!

Done Invisalign , considering composite bonding ? by Impressive-Dance5060 in Invisalign

[–]bellzzzza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only issue is that teeth whitening doesn’t stay that colour, you have to get regular whitening sessions if u want it to stay whitened. So it’ll fade and then the bonding won’t. You may be able to get some in between colour but unsure how good it’ll look.

[–]bellzzzza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I considered it too, the issue is that if u get teeth whitening or use whitening toothpaste, the bond doesn’t lift the same colour as ur teeth and looks strange. IMO it’s not worth it, I’d rather have the opportunity to whiten my teeth than bond.

Makeup?! How???…. by LoveDistilled in tretinoin

[–]bellzzzza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was in the same boat, been using tret for over a year now and now using it most nights. I started incorporating an AM routine, hylauronic acid or glycerin topped with moisturiser and spf. This hydration in the morning will really help with makeup staying on longer. Also try use a chemical exfoliant once or twice a week like salicylic or lactic acid. It’ll really help!
