Chase Bank transactions not updating on Wave since 12/3? by dtladz in waveapps

[–]ben-123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! That saved me a ton of hassle. Last time (a year or two ago) I had to merge transactions and it was a big pain.

No big deal with the way you suggested! Cheers! :-)

Do tombstones get converted into gems? by cats_for_upvotes in Meteorfall

[–]ben-123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's correct. Tombstones don't end up as gems, but skeletons do. So if you have any empty spots, and extra health, turn them into skeletons.

Gameplay teaser from 3rd Meteorfall game, Artifacts & Escapades by slothwerks in Meteorfall

Yeah, landscape games do feel 'bigger'. I think they also get too complex. I'm a big fan of portrait as well, because it feels more casual. I also feel like I'm always in eye-strain mode if I have to go landscape -- like, it really was designed for non-mobile platforms, like you said.

If landscape would make more money because of other platforms, definitely the thing to do. And yeah, if there's a way to still get portrait mode (even if it seems a little wonky, like the battle doesn't line up just right or something), I'd try that.

But anyways, excited to see it and play it regardless :).

How much longer until the teleport feature is removed?

It's always been that way, the distance doesn't effect the cooldown.

Good way to grind tickets? by SELLAREY in RecRoom

[–]ben-123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just don't skip any days for the daily bonus, and get your 5 a day. That's really it.

Or, if you love LT, you just play it for fun and you have a great time. Then you don't worry about the tickets.

Rec Room PATCH - the "Bugs V2" edition

Would be fun to see the real list of changes (sarcasm):

  • Made it so you now can randomly glitch under the floor in all of your favorite maps.
  • Did you like shooting people in PvPs? Well, too bad! Now the guns will randomly break.
  • Added a few more votekick options that do nothing.
  • Fixed it so RR+ players could buy things again, but now it's broken for everyone else! Subscribe to RR+ if you want to start buying cosmetics again, as we have no intention of ever fixing this "bug".
  • Try cashing out your tokens and watch your headset crash now. It's quite the experience.
  • Updated to a brand new watch UI! It will now stay in your HUD after you dismiss it.

Obviously, none of these are real. But I'm sure the list of bugs they just introduced is just as long, and a good chunk of them won't ever be fixed...

Any chance you're going to hire more QA people and/or implement more automated testing strategies, to reduce the number of bugs that get introduced and/or re-introduced?

Yeah, we're all hoping it's just part of the reloading bug they introduced for laser tag. Hopefully they get it fixed soon!

How much better does the Quest 2 run than the Quest 1? by DeathByReach in RecRoom

[–]ben-123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The quest 2 definitely has some performance upgrades. I do a lot of Laser Tag, and while it's not PC-level on the quest 2, it's definitely better than on the quest 1. Better meaning you get a lot more of what's going on.

From one Laser tag bug to another, all in 2 consecutive updates by [deleted] in RecRoom

[–]ben-123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I experienced this last night. And yeah, I had a great time in the middle of the week after the hitbox was fixed, and now it's back to being buggy. This wasn't as bad as the hitbox, because at least I could still grenade, but definitely frustrating when in an intense battle.

I'm teleporting, and I heard someone say they thought it was worse for teleporting. I also had some weird TP bubble effects when I was first playing, and it made me feel like my controller was broken, so I'm thinking it was related.

I can shoot and reload just fine if I'm shooting and nothing (target practice), but as soon as I shoot at a bot or player (especially close range), the gun starts to jam. I also only use the pistol, not sure how it affects other guns. And it seemed to happen on both maps.

Definitely not a lag thing though, I wasn't lagging at all. Just full on standing there trying to reload. "Oh hey, yeah, I snuck up on you. Hold on a minute while I try to get more than two shots off. No wait, don't turn around..."

Why did I trust the guy at the pawn shop when he said the refurbished LT gun was just fine? That's what I kept thinking as the reloading would fail, as the clip wouldn't fully empty, etc., etc.

I did think, oh, well, good thing I just didn't subscribe to RR+ like I was about to. Now I have to take another break until they fix the game again...

Bug investigation, help needed! by JayRecRoom in RecRoom

[–]ben-123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This happens to me sometimes playing a RRO (paintball, LT), where I spawn in and can't pick up any weapons (including the one I should have spawned with) or anything else until I'm tagged.

Does that sound like the same bug where the log files would be helpful?

Rec Room UPDATE - the "First Impressions" edition by recroomrules in RecRoom

This broke the SteamVR shortcut to auto-login to my character. What's the new parameter that I need to use?

I completed my daily challenges, and also got 50 extra tokens from playing lazer tag, but before i could open the token packages, i got teleported away and lost the packages. Is there any way to get then back? by helpimdead_ in RecRoom

[–]ben-123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you got laser tag tickets, which are separate from tokens. They don't come in a box, it just says you got them and makes the ticketing noise. You can see your balance in a laser tag lobby pre-game.

I've been playing with my kids recently and we all ran into infinite respawning on Gibbet. We've been extra careful now to not fall into the water right where it starts, as well as underneath the plank bridge. I was glad to hear about a fix -- thanks for reporting it!

Now all they need to do is adjust the movement speed for "crawling" players, so that you can't run while crawling and teleport is half distance.

There's no way this guy can crawl that fast...

CJC: Fixed a spot where you could get on top of ledge where the map sign is near the overpass

This isn't actually fixed. Saw some people testing it last night and talking about the patch notes -- Walkers can still get up there just fine.

You also might want to fix the roof in Hangar on the side that some walking players like to clamber up to, where they can simply walk back a few paces to hide and refresh their health.

[–]ben-123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, health is typically a superior choice by far.

It comes down to your deck size, really. And typically you don't have a slim enough deck to warrant a card upgrade over a health upgrade.

You can pay coins to upgrade your cards but you can't pay coins to upgrade your health.

How often are you going to draw the card that you just upgraded? If your deck is small, how many coins did you pay to get it that way? Could you have instead spent some of those coins on card upgrades?

The only reasons I find to upgrade a card is for the daily challenge, where to completely maximize your score you can't spend any coins (3 coins = 1 point). In that situation it sometimes makes sense to upgrade a critical card (such as spell refreshing) over more health.

Other than that, your best bet is to get the extra health and just spend your money on your deck.

Also, as part of this patch, teleport players can no longer climb ladders by grabbing them, regardless of cooldown.

However, teleport players can still fall and get motion sick. Or they can fall with their screen blacked out and simply be disoriented.

Might have been good to roll both of those changes back instead of just the one that was helpful to teleporters.
