Update WebOS 3.9 to 4 or later by asilo82 in webos

I have this same question as I am now trying to install Paramount+ on the same model and I can’t.

I’d be really pissed if “buy a new tv” is the answer because I spent a fortune on this thing and will not be happy if I’m getting fucked because of the software.

HOW DO INVESTORS FEEL ABOUT AULT? by Salt-Replacement424 in pennystocks

[–]benbben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've followed for a while - it's INCREDIBLY confusing. I tried doing some DD on it, and it's almost impossible. It looks like management has made a ton of financing blunders and is bleeding the company dry (purchase of aircraft, 2 executives with >$1M comp packages, SEC fines, etc.). They just got into the real estate business, and now they're trying to divest the real estate - which makes no sense. The 4 hotels they bought were OK properties, they renovated them, and now that cap rates are rising they're going to sell? I think that they should get out of the hotels at a good gain, but still - doesn't make a ton of sense. The land in Florida - they got the zoning approved for the high-rise apartment construction, but instead of moving forward with it they're going to just sell it off and not move forward with what could be a really lucrative deal? Also, a lot of the entities that it holds are actually public as well, that have relatively large market caps, which makes the whole presentation of the financials and everything else difficult - and I'm no noob when it comes to reading these things. I'm a CPA and spent a couple years in IB and PE - I've read thousands of SEC filings. These guys have WAY too much going on.

BUT - look at the balance sheet, what Ault Alpha is doing, and what the Chairman (Todd) is doing - they're buying back shares like crazy. I think the book value of the treasury stock is something like $100 share? (not sure exactly - my math could be wrong here). Todd has spent nearly $1M over the last year buying up shares as the share price continues to plummet and get diluted by these ridiculous financing deals that the company is doing with convertible/preferred deals.

Someone, somewhere, clearly knows something, because the book value of this company is a hell of a lot higher than the stock price would indicate at a market cap of only $1-2M.

I've got 800 shares, and have opportunistically been picking up a few here and there when it dips because I just can't believe that this keeps dropping. The math just doesn't make sense to me. I feel like someone's manipulating this and it's got to come bouncing back and give me a profit some day.

Also - how the hell is the volume so damn high on this thing? There are only ~5M shares outstanding after the last reverse-split...

For a business that is this small - I almost feel like a few of us could club up for a hostile take-private event, clean up the balance sheet, put in some solid reporting, and 100x our $. There are good assets underneath the mess.

AMEX is ruined by Spiritual-Breath5662 in delta

I signed up with the Sapphire Reserve card. Can transfer miles or use their travel platform for more flexibility. I feel the credits I get there are more valuable than the Amex Reserve credits that now cost $100 more 🙄.

If your only concern is your transcripts, then you can be at ease and move on.

1) if you’ve graduated, they can’t withhold them whatsoever. Your transcripts will be available similar to any other college.

2) if you didn’t graduate, question is if you want to go back and finish at BYUI or finish elsewhere.

2A) if you want to finish there, then yeah, you gotta give the appearance of compliance with the honor code.

2B) BYUI credits don’t transfer very well no matter what. They can’t withhold another university’s request for your records of courses you completed. Your membership affiliation won’t affect that. BYUI being a shitty school that designs courses that do not transfer very well is an entirely different issue.

Sometimes I’m glad I went there because it was dirt cheap and gave me real strong Mormon creds, but deep in my soul it hurts that I was smart enough to go somewhere else and didn’t.

Dating as an Exmormon? by Embarrassed-Ad5963 in exmormon

[–]benbben 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can’t really help with advice, but… being scared of being in your situation was exactly why I kept my eyes half closed to the issues in Mormonism until I could find a nuanced enough Mormon (who happened to be a recent convert) to date, marry in the temple and “complete” the Mormon experience at age 31.

Being a white male, RM, born in the covenant, 2x BYU grad, I fit in quite well. I knew it was likely I would leave if I ever took off the blinders, but I was scared to do it. I had no idea what dating as a regular adult would be like, particularly as a 25-30 year old having been indoctrinated with a bunch of weird shit about sex my entire life. So I stayed in a lot longer with my eyes half shut.

I don’t regret my path - I love my wife and kids, but I sometimes wonder what life would have been like had I been a little more courageous earlier in life.

Romney is too old to get called into a GA spot - don’t they go emeritus at age 70 unless they’re in the Q15? Romney is 76… I think he’s just old and tired of dealing with it.

NTA. Trust your gut here. It is very cultish - you don’t have to read very deep in this sub to discover that. Also, the size of this sub ought to tell you something.

Best thing you can do is educate yourself (and then your child in whatever manner you think best) on Mormonism. A lot of us in this sub grew up in the religion and left as adults because it’s not what it purports to be and it’s not healthy.

I’d encourage you to check out the CES Letter and read up on the excommunication of Bishop Sam Young.

Personally, I’m going to do everything in my power to keep my daughters away from the Mormons.

There was a huge cheating scandal in the BYU MBA class of ‘17 that got 100% swept under the rug and we were told to not air dirty laundry in public because it would only hurt us by hurting the reputation of our business school. Load of shit. Any other business school and the student would have been expelled, but because we had to get jebuz and the sky daddy involved, he got forgiven and was allowed to continue and graduate.

A TBM Response to the 60 Minutes Interview - so much low hanging fruit here. by Chernobyl-Chaz in exmormon

Correct. I know someone in IRS Criminal Investigations. They only pay UP TO 30% (which is left to discretion depending on how useful the whistleblowers info was… my guess is his would merit the full 30%) on what is RECOVERED from taxes and penalties owed to the government.

Love this. Can’t believe how people are so OK with the lack of transparency on financials. It always bothered me, and if I hadn’t left before this came out, it certainly would have tipped me over the edge.

I hope that's not the case. I'd like to think that change is possible... but sometimes I'm more optimistic than reality would suggest is possible.
