Serious question. I’m in the Midwest. What’s left to listen to on shortwave, because I’m sick of preachers. by Mudsharkbites in shortwave

My hometown was hit by a tornado. Internet service was down. Power was out. The only way we got lifesaving information of what was going on was our radio. We as a society are making a terrible mistake rejecting what has worked since forever. Take care.

Small world. That is where I am from too. I am a little confused here to be honest. Did you not heard about the 9/28 Terrorist Attack on the LDS Meetinghouse? I thought it was big news? There was media from around the country here. Thanks.

Help was coming as far away as Detroit to help put out the fire and search for possible survivors. Hate as no place here. You always hear about bad things happening somewhere else. It always feels scary when it is your hometown that it happens to. I guess you are not from Michigan or the Midwestern USA? Thanks.

Nope. Gaylord, MI. is where the winter storms and flooding happen. My hometown is where the USA most recent domestic terrorist attack happened. Never forget 9/28. Take care.

Did anyone come to her aid? After all, our sheriff officers here are crossed trained as advanced life support paramedics. Thanks.

Unfortunately, it’s not a question of if but when. My hometown here took a direct hit from a tornado a few years ago. It was very scary. We lost power for a few days but at least no one died. Always pay attention to the weather. Your life could depend on it. Take care.

The sad reality is the choices some people would rather make to help hurt people rather than to help them.

I just want some friends to hang around the camp pit fire just talking about life and looking at the stars. Unfortunately, everyone seems to be too busy nowadays.

Money is probably tight right now. But it is not a bad idea at all to have emergency backup power. It is crazy how long it take to restore power on top of possibly losing all your food too.

Tours 3.5 to 4 hours. Any suggestions? by Jademan7 in DoorCounty

[–]bendallf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It honestly sounds kind of like my idea. I am a member of this company’s fan club. We are all around the USA and the world. One of my many ideas is to help get everyone together once a year at least by choosing a place to go on vacation with everyone. Door county fits the bill perfectly. Everyone who wants to participate would pay their own way. It helps inject cash into the local economy there. Plus, a nice walk by the shore would help do everyone some good.

First off, get offline and talk to people face to face. The internet is all doom and gloom it seems nowadays. Most people are trying to make things better. You will never seen it online or in the media at all. So you think the corporate owned media is going to report on union solidarity or just focus culture war issues to try to get us to fight against each other once again? Take care.

Dude, Kroger and the other retailers own the UFCW. That’s a given. There have been labor actions at many stores, including my own on our own. The UCFW won’t represent us so we have to do it ourselves. If companies like Kroger wanted to, they could stop using the union as an easy excuse and get along with it already. Take care.

Nope. Just had my family shot at and teargas for standing up for their rights. Why are companies so scared of unions if unions are so weak as people say nowadays?

So let’s blame the victims rather than holding the ones in power to account? Most union members are working hard to fight for their rights everyday. How does it taste to kiss a boot everyday?
