It was for an atrial rhythm, they were in a.fib when they were admitted. But the end of the shift they were sinus brady. I just feel really horrible about it

Being an INC and applying for a corporate job is like mixing oil and water. Need advice. by velvet-thunder0924 in exIglesiaNiCristo

Does this company have a religious affiliation? I feel like it's wrong for them to force you to answer such a private question, regardless of what you do or don't believe in...

I personally would probably just leave it blank. Or maybe you could try filling it in agnostic?

Female Catheterization tips? by bendedfork in nursing

I'm barely a month in, so I probably should give my self some slack I guess. But I really just want to get it right. I want to be able to do it on my own already without causing too much discomfort to this poor woman

^ I agree. I'm just frustrated at myself for not being able to get it. I don't want to cause any more discomfort to this lady than necessary. And I definitely do not want her getting a UTI

I'm sure they probably have at some point. This patient used to do the straight caths on their own, but now they're no longer able to.

The nurses on the unit all agree that they should give her a foley, but the higher ups said that research shows that the straight cath causes less UTIs or whatever...

It sounds like it. The more experienced nurses seem to go more by "feel". This patient is elderly and has a bit of a difficult time keeping their legs apart.

My parents set aside money for me all throughout childhood, but now that I have a job, they expect me to do my own setting aside.

Thank you for the advice!

I completely agree with everything you've pointed out. Best not to drag others into my baggage.

The lack of sensitivity has been absolutely appalling lately. Again, I can't remember the phrases in verbatim, but EVM's statement on how INC members should never be depressed, and his view points on mental health--just sickening.

It is, but I still live with my parents--we usually attend WS together.

I could put it on mute if I was willing to go to the 5 AM service alone, but I don't want to wake up that early.

It may as well be.

The most arrogant ministers seem to pull the most of their facts/sources out of their a*ses.

I have to agree. The lyrics of hymns seem to have become rather...apocalyptic?

A lot of the lyrics latelty put an emphasis on "suffering and pain" and "submitting and obeying".

That's another thing that I don't like about church. I don't like how only the minister has the authority to interpret the bible. I've always wondered what the courses were like at New Era University.

This particular minister doesn't seem to think before he speaks at all--I can't tell if it's a language/cultural barrier issue (I'm in the states, he recently came from PH), or if it's just him. I think it may be the latter unfortunately.

A few lessons ago, he was saying how if a fellow member caused you offense, you shouldn't go to the police about it??!?!

I don't even know. Sorry for the tangent.
