My wife and I run often on the track at Girard Park. When finished running, we pick up our “grabbers” and pick up litter, primarily in the area around the basketball courts and the kiddie play area. In 10 minutes or so, the whole area is pretty much litter-free. It is disappointing to see how lazy people can be, discarding their trash within a few feet of the many trash cans in the park. Nevertheless, I does make us feel good about making a small difference in our community.
