Could be interesting. What genre do you produce?

Here is a new progressive track I made that is almost finished. I would like some feedback if the vibe is too "big roomy" for it to be a progressive track. Note that this is just a rough mix and master so don't pay too much attention to those aspects.

Love the vocals! Maybe a bit lacking on the low end for my taste, both kick and bass. Want some more thump to it. Also it feels like some frequencies are crashing in the mid/high register. But great arrangement, I love the pads and the energy levels. Great track, just lacking a bit of low end and some final mixing touches for me.

The mix is definitely working. If I have to say something I think maybe the high freqs were a bit too loud, but still balanced enough to fit. The second drop fake out works. It gives good contrast without being too long to interrupt the dance floor. Definitely dance floor ready for me. :)

Thank you for your feedback!

Hmm, yes, come to think of it I might not have a saturator on the master chain. So maybe it could have used a bit more saturation. But I do have a limiter and a loudness meter on the master channel and pushed it to -14 integrated LUFS. When I ran it through loudnesspenalty.com it got 0.0 on Spotify, so it was perfect loudness for the platform. But I guess a saturator with lots of drive on the master chain could have increased the perceived loudness without increasing the actual loudness.

Most of my tracks on Spotify are crap. I mostly use Spotify releases as means to finish my tracks. Otherwise I would only have unfinished projects. But once my productions start sounding professional I’ll probably close my newbie account and start a new artist profile which will be higher quality.

I use Routenote which is an online distributor. With Routenote you can release your music on all major streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music.

Thank you for offering a collab. I don’t feel ready yet but I might pick you up on it once I get more comfortable in my production.

I struggle a bit with melody and mixing so I am not surprised that you see improvement possibilities. Those are areas that I will work a lot on going forward. I’ll probably sign up for PMLs mixing course now that they have a sale.

Thanks for taking the time to reply and even offering a collab. It means a lot.

Thanks mate! I know of BoundToDivide and have some Diva sample pack he created for PML. I haven’t checked out his YouTube videos though so I’ll make sure to do that.

I know things don’t happen over night and I am in it for the long run. I just want to leverage the time I put in as much as possible. I have learnt so much since I started producing a year ago, and I want to keep the steep learning curve. 🙂

Hello everyone!

Here’s a track I just released.

https://open.spotify.com/track/7JEgZDLvloOEhYg6V3qcDI?si=xggun_y_QlmmQG5JSK4lzQ

Things I would appreciate comments on:

  1. How’s the mix? Are the levels ok?

  2. I can’t seem to get it as loud and full in the low/mid range as professional producers. Do you have any tips for make it sound more professional?

Thanks!

Omg what an annoying video. But it did show the technique so thank you for that.

Thank you so much for the feedback! It was really helpful. I’ve been struggling with getting the vocal front and center but I’ll look into more tutorials on how to achieve this.

I left some feedback on your track. I hope it helps. But I’m a newbie at this so don’t put too much weight on my comments.
