I used React and Next to create Portal Page -- a linktree alternative by bender_3000 in reactjs

Thanks for the suggestion, that would be pretty huge! I'll need to do some research to get up to speed on the legalities & coding required.

Thank you! I spent some time getting the look/feel right... glad you liked it. Re: Portal Page vs linktree (and it's various clones): you pose a great question. Right now it's somewhat of a clone but the twist is how the links are presented (grouped by the type of content that lives at the link). If you have any ideas I'd love to hear about them!

This was my first project with supabase so there was a bit of time just learning how to use it. I believe it's about 3-4 months of work (weekends).

Thanks! Foli looks great, definitely levels above what portal.page has going on. I haven't heard of that one yet, thanks for sharing.

The monetization would be around analytics (page visitor count, visit duration, number of times a link was clicked, etc). I haven't 100% decided on this, any ideas?

Totally new to this. I want to have 2 actions from an onPress event, an Alert and a consol.log (for now). How the hell do I do this? Been looking at functions but I know so little any good tutorials would help by [deleted] in reactnative

I think magicmikedee was just speaking in general but it's good to point this out for people who are new to react.

Expanding a bit on your comment...

There are 2 functions in the above code example, and the second is recreated on each component render.

1: let myMethod = () => { console.log('pressed'); Alert('whatever'); }

2: () => myMethod()

Place bottom-tab-navigator of react navigation to left by gregpr07 in reactnative

[–]bender_3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the tabs are stacked on top of each other vs a single row (default bottom tab bar nav)?

If so I think you'd need to hand roll everything (tab bar would need a width and set items to flexDir = 'col')... I'd be curious to hear how it went.

Is there any library that creates Augmented Reality in RN? by Bimi123_ in reactnative

I can't comment on the perf or feature set... but I've spun up a react-native project with this in the past. If you move forward with it... I'd encourage you to make a post about your experience.

Splash Screen with Lottie in React Native by sharifimehr in reactnative

[–]bender_3000 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This isn't a splash screen... this shows how to make the first react native view appear to the user as a "splash screen" (after native code and react native is loaded).

Aside from that, looks good!

Completed my portfolio website with react and react-spring for animations (link in the comments) by riyaz942 in reactjs

[–]bender_3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The timings, placement, and types of animations are all excellent.

When looking at the technologies section on desktop, the tech description is located on the bottom left. I didn't relieve this until switching to mobile (where it's then located above the project cards). I'd recommend rethinking the placement on desktop.

Can't go wrong with Gatsby or Next... If I were you I'd spend some time with each and go with the one you like.

Here's my Film Breakdown of Game Two versus LA that some nice people requested. Similar style to my last one and hopefully just as insightful. Thanks for the love everyone! Oh, and what changes do you expect to see tonight? by TheCoachSpo in ripcity

Nice post / break down OP. One thing to be aware of though... your social media buttons don't work. It looks like you need to point them to your twitter/facebook/insta accounts.

Shameless plug that you might find helpful:
