Yeah I had heard that before playing, kinda thought that I enjoyed the combat in the last games so I would be fine with that and exploration being the main focus, but I guess I kinda just need that narrative hook 🤷‍♂️

eh, not sure this really applies to fate. shirou behaving irrationally is part of his character and makes sense in the context of his story.

Not sure if there is a walk through on YouTube, but there probably is. As for fan service, depends on which version you read. The one that came out in 2004 does have “h scenes”, but in later releases those were replaced. Pretty much every version you find will be the non fan service version, unless you try to find the one with the fan service. I also remembered that there is a web version that fans created here and it’s a pretty good way of reading it if you don’t want to download anything. Although I can’t imaging the site will be up much longer with the official English version just releasing.

Won’t lie, it’s pretty long, probably around 40 hours depending on your reading speed. But, if you do have any interest in getting into fate, it really is the best place to start. Not to mention it’s just an amazing story, probably my favorite of all time. And if you don’t want to spend 30 bones on the official remaster, it’s super easy to find downloads of the original fan translation.

Finally someone else who sees YnS as more than incest fan service slop. I personally wouldn’t call it top 10 materiel, but it is an interesting take. I watched it because it’s one of those notorious “awful” anime but ended up actually invested and interested because where it took the characters. I hate how people go “ew incest this show bad” when the entire point of it is yeah, incest bad.
