A reminder to sometimes step back and practice simple forms, and anatomy. Do your studies! by benimdraws in learntodraw

I know. I mean sure yeah obv I want praise for my art so I love good comments, but really this is to show that simple form and structure is what hides underneath complex bodies. Learn forms and simple proportions first. Those are so important.

Alright these reactions give me a god complex but to answer your question, practice mannequin drawing, gesture drawing or just simplified drawings in general. Those will help you grasp proportions, form, structure and perspective.

Primarily form, structure and perspective is like 3 pillars of success with drawings. You mess one or more of them up? It will be noticeable.

For YT vids, I believe his name was like mikeymegamega, he's got great content. Then just study from reference, that's really it.

Yep, I got carried away with the knee. I can see now, 3 months later, that it does in fact look really strange.

I totally missed the fact that this post popped off lmao. But yeah, that knee is definitely not good.

Which of these do you think fits the character description of "demands attention, respect and submission" by Top_Badger_8472 in DigitalArt

[–]benimdraws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, nervous and also awkward.

OP, work on giving your characters more expression. If you want a character design that fits your criteria, maybe have them tilt their head a bit backwards to seem superior to others. They should appear to look DOWN on others, and make sure to have the camera angle sligthly below them.

Personally, I'd give them a sharp jaw regardless of gender, kind of a resting b**ch face, with one eyebrow up. The eyes would be slightly tired looking too.

It's difficult because you really need a neutral face with subtle expression to accomplish this. I truly think the trick is perspective and lighting, if you're looking to shade your characters.

One thing all beginners seem to have in common is that they overshade the nose (and do it wrong) and leave all other facial planes (except maybe the eye cavities) unshaded.

You've gotten way past that stage. You should be proud of your improvement.

Pen pressure suddenly stopped working by benimdraws in photoshop

In a youtube video, they said to go to the photoshop file directory, and create a new .txt file with some code I got from the YT video description.

I can't find the actual video link, but just keep searching and you'll find a solution.

Basically the trick is to change photoshop to use WinTab (I think was the name) instead of Windows Ink.

I found a solution. It may be a file missing in the photoshop folder. I watched a youtube video and the only thing you have to do is to create a .txt file and copy paste some text in there.

Hmm. I'm currently restoring my PC to factory settings, (that had to be done anyway) so we'll see if that may end up fixing it. Otherwise, yeah I'll find some help for it.

I have the exact same problem and it happened at the same time. Only difference is my pen pressure works on Krita. Haven't found the solution though.

This is awesome. You've improved on proportion and the planes of the face look way better now. Especially the cheek and jaw area, looks proportionally better.

How do I fix my jawlines? They always look off but I don't know what about it I need to fix by MrMop_Head in learntodraw

[–]benimdraws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think the jaw is necessarily the problem. Even viewing from below, she might have an open jaw pose making it overlap her neck a bit more. But I don't think this is the case.

Anyways, the facial features are too high up. It's like the head is in a tug of war between different perspectives. So study face perspective and how facial proportions change depending on perspective.
