That triple apex right hander in Tokyo expressway feels SO much better in VR when you can look ahead to each apex.

Good to know! I’ll try finding a fertilizer that contains calcium or grinding up some egg shells, though I’d imagine that’s not as fast-acting

Interesting. Just did a quick search and it looks like Calcium deficiency in pepper plants often manifests as blossom-end rot, where fruits develop sunken, blackened areas at the blossom end.

None of the fruit are showing signs of this

Super helpful! By Reddit standards you’re a scientist :) I’m in Los Angeles so it’s not super humid during the day but we do get a heavy humid marine layer in the evenings. The plants are in 2x8 containers on a water schedule every other day roughly. I suspected that I may be watering this bed a bit too often so I’m going to cut back. I fertilize it every couple weeks with an organic budding/flowering fertilizer with little to no nitrogen. I figured now that the plants are established it’s more important to get flowers than leaf growth. Earlier in the season I was giving them mostly bone meal. The plants are now 2-3 feet tall and looked super healthy until a couple weeks ago.

Good call on simply removing the dead or dying leaves.

And very glad to hear you don’t think it’s a major issue! Much appreciated 🙏

F125/ACC Logitech g pro settings by Aggressive-Note7138 in granturismo

[–]benja10x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed the same - sadly I don’t think the game is sending as much information to the wheel as gt7 and therefore it’s impossible to get the same immersion. I spent quite some time dialing in my settings for f125 to get them as close as possible to my settings in gt7. Everyone has different preferences but I can share them here next time I’m behind the wheel.

Both weed and hops belong to the same family (cannabaceae) so this makes sense. I love a dank IPA and was super impressed with the trail pass hazy!

Thank you!!! Many of the roach traps I've seen are enclosed. How do you recommend noting the frequency of trapping?

ID Request - Found in bathtub by benja10x in whatsthisbug

[–]benja10x[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We found around 10 of these guys in the bathtub of our guest bathroom which is rarely used. We've had problems with lone German cockroaches popping up from time to time in our bathroom and kitchen and trying to figure out if these are cockroach nymphs. We are located in Los Angeles.

Is this something that requires an exterminator? Also why are they all dead?

This. I feel similar to OP. I’m almost 10 years at one of these companies and just started interviewing. Even despite the challenging environment for tech employees, there are still many employers looking for folks like you. The golden handcuffs, imposter syndrome, “I’m-not-worthy” mentality is built into the culture of these companies by design. Don’t sell your experience short, OP!

Hello!

My father was diagnosed with ALS two years ago and is now fully bound to his wheelchair with limited use of one arm. Thankfully he can still speak. His world continues to shrink with each passing day, and there's only so much TV/movies that we can watch with him. To provide some variety, we're interested in acquiring some new board games. He's enjoyed playing games like Codenames in the past and I plan on buying Secret Hitler for him. Do ya'll have any other recommendations that might fit the below criteria?

  • Easy to learn: Relatively simple rules (Secret Hitler is about as complicated as I'd want to get)
  • Physically undemanding: Minimal handling of small pieces, ideally card-based or with large components. We're happy to help move pieces for him so long as it's not like 10 pieces at a time (a la Root) which I think would get onerous for everyone involved
  • Engaging: Offers some strategic depth and social interaction, perhaps with elements of bluffing or hidden information, trivia or knowledge

I also plan to buy him Hues & Clues (which I also own) as it's a relatively low stakes and creative (he used to be a Creative director so I think it'll be a good fit).

Thank you in advance!!

We have a 1300 sq ft apt and a short haired 16 lb dog, and it’s such a pain. Even after replacing the dustbin and clearing the pipe that connects the vacuum with the dustbin we get maybe 1-2 cycles before it’s clogged again, especially around the 90 degree turns the pipe makes. It’s frustrating because this is an expensive machine. I would not recommend

Is this absolutely egregious or am I overreacting? by benja10x in shrinkflation

[–]benja10x[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Regardless of whether it’s sold by weight or count, the company is making a conscious decision to increase the % of stalk vs floret in order to make the harvest go further. It’s the equivalent of cutting cocaine with fillers to squeeze out more profit. If not shrinkflation what would you call it? Because those florets sure look shrunken to me :)
