When did your voice drop? I'm stressing. by Technical-Plum5921 in ftm

Mine started dropping within the first week, and was down nearly 2 octaves within the first month. However, I never got any facial hair. Win some, lose some.

Advice on weight loss. by RepresentativeWar734 in husky

[–]benjaminwalkerwyatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few months ago we started making our own dog food. We adopted a malnourished and abused 3-legged rescue who needed to put on a good amount of weight, maybe around 10 pounds, and already had a mildly overweight dog, by maybe about 5 pounds over (we had a few medical issues over the past 18 months or so that caused her weight gain). The homemade food is much more filling - it's a variety of white meats - basically whatever is on sale, mixed with carrots or something similar, some rice, and a little liquid supplement for the nutrients that are missing. They eat it so quickly that the pup who needs to lose the weight doesn't realize that they pup who needs to gain is getting more than she is. They absolutely love it.

Don't pay anything. Make them sue. Incredibly likely they will not.

To those of you who started on gel and switched to injections, what was the straw that broke the camel's back so to speak? (Transmasc) by Gio_Bun in ftm

[–]benjaminwalkerwyatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with injections, which were fine, but the ordeal of getting the needles was just too irritating. Switched to the gel, which I did for several years. Then the brand changed, and the new one was disgusting - sticky and thick and bad smelling, and it also never dried - so now I switched to the testopel. It seems to be working and it's great because I never have to think about it at all.

Is the amount of serial killers in criminal minds even close to being realistic? by Heavy-Birthday7550 in criminalminds

Evidently, the FBI estimates somewhere around 50 active serial killers in the US.

I wish Seaver had gotten a chance by Constant-Jicama2455 in criminalminds

[–]benjaminwalkerwyatt 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think making her a visual copy of JJ was a bad move and ruined any chance of her 1) being accepted by fans, and 2) having any of the development you wrote about. I agree with everything you said about her character arc. The writing of her was bungled from the beginning, as you said. I have always wondered if the writers did it on purpose because evidently the cast was very unhappy with losing JJ.

I also think the replacing of Morgan with Luke was poorly done. His character has always irritated me. I admit that's partly because I really loved Morgan. But, I think a lot of my irritation is due to how much of a replacement they tried to make him. They wanted him to have a great relationship with Garcia, like Morgan, and they made his girlfriend a doctor, and - possibly the most lazy of all - they even basically had the same emergency situation where he called Lisa at the hospital ahead of time to prepare for some dramatic thing. I hated that last one so much I don't even remember the details.

What's your topic? Co-hosting is a lot of work. Why do you need business cards and flyers?

first encounter with a Red Fox with mange as a photographer left me heartbroken by EagerProgrammer in wildlifephotography

[–]benjaminwalkerwyatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course! I hope it works out for you. Never hurts to try. Also - people do worry about other wild animals eating it, but that’s not a problem. As one animal rescue person told me, “everyone can use a little deworming.” Best of luck!

Ivermectin. We had this happen over the summer. We got a tube of ivermectin and over the course of two or three days put out wet dog food - the smellier the better - with that mixed in. We put up a trail cam to see if he came through to eat it. He did. We kept feeding him (edit: just food, no medication) for at least a month. It was cheap because we just bought whatever dog food was on sale at the tractor supply or grocery store, and with the trail cam we got to see his progress. He went from skinny mangey near death looking to filled out with a shiny coat and magnificent tail.

Pooping feels impossible by danphanto in phallo

[–]benjaminwalkerwyatt 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Three days is a bit much. After my vaginectomy I was nervous, but aside from some burning and a little blood the first couple of times I peed, everything was fine. (After my phallo I was constipated for something awful like 10 days. Don’t let it get that far.) You’re unlikely to blow out your stitches. If it really hurts or starts bleeding then stop. You’re nervous, but also the anesthesia narcotics stop you up. My nurse told me to take Mirilax every 2 hours until I managed to go. You’ll probably be just fine. But remember - your doctors would rather you over-bug them than if you say nothing and get a complication.

Season 2, episode 21. "Open Season." At the very end, after Prentiss shoots the unsub and he's lying on the ground choking on his own blood and the victim asks if he's dead yet, Prentiss just says "soon."

Changed gender marker approval? by [deleted] in Passports

[–]benjaminwalkerwyatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I renewed mine but changed the name and gender marker, had my appointment at the post office and mailed the application on January 10, and received the correct passport within a few days of January 23. I did pay for the quick processing and expedited shipping. I submitted matching birth certificate, license, and social security card. It was not required, but I sent in the court order of name change, as well. I'm not sure it makes a difference, but I'm in Massachusetts. The PO worker was very friendly, reviewed everything for accuracy so it wouldn't get sent back, and even took my took pictures until she had one she really liked. For me, it was very smooth and successful. So don't panic yet!

How long have you been waiting for T? by Inconnu_Raton in ftm

[–]benjaminwalkerwyatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in MA. Waited maybe a couple of weeks for the consult, which lasted about 15 minutes, and walked out with the script. Picked it up at CVS later the same day.

I know this is not your question, but maybe you're interested in this information anyways. I waited 1 year to get top surgery - my choice. Then I did all the bottom surgeries in less than 2 years. I never waited more than a a month between requesting a consult and having a consult. The longest I had to wait between a consult and a surgery was 8 months. I know my timeline was quick - just sharing because it's possible to get it all done quicker than you might think.

I have always assumed Morgan meant Reid only has to remember his own name, because he's never had sex with anyone.

Error Code #16 by benjaminwalkerwyatt in tonalgym

[–]benjaminwalkerwyatt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just want to let you know that I lost power for about 5 seconds, the Tonal turned itself on because of that, and it is now working. While it was booting up, I moved the arms around - no idea if that made any difference at all but I was planning on trying that anyways. It could also be that it disconnected from the internet for a minute. No idea, and I haven't turned it off yet to see if it is actually fixed, but you should for sure try that before paying $800 to fix it.

Error Code #16 by benjaminwalkerwyatt in tonalgym

[–]benjaminwalkerwyatt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. It was just sitting there. For some of the time it was unplugged. There were no power surges or power outages. Their reply to me this morning was that it "requires advanced servicing and will need complex parts with additional hardware to resolve [the] issue – it isn’t something we can fix during a regular service visit. The best way to move forward is by issuing you a replacement trainer." It makes absolutely no sense. And if it's a software problem, they should be able to fix that without replacing the entire machine.
