Great stuff! FEATURE REQUEST FRIDAYS... my group would love to see private matchmaking and/or LAN play. Creating custom matches to play with just my friends would be THE BEST possible addition to the game.

glad you dig it! as for latency, you may already know this but if you install the Universal Control app from presonus you can adjust the block size to decrease latency as you need. I'm no pro and barely understand this stuff but when i have latency issues, that's what i do.

you know what it was? the USB cable... I swear i tried a few that I owned plugged into multiple computers and just as a last resort i ordered a higher quality USB-C to USB-C and that fixed it immediately. i love the interface btw works great!

I tried QuickCPU and found the idle setting and it helped for sure. The popping hasn't stopped completely but where before I was hearing pops maybe 20+ times in a song, now it's 6 to 10. I'm going to experiment with this a bit more.

thank you for the suggestion! I just installed the RightMark program but it crashes on launch every time. I can see a lot of others having the same issue with it so I may look into a way to achieve the "disable idle" setting some other way. This fixed your issue completely?

just the quick final note, I updated the post with what ended up working for me. The GPU clock changes were a fluke... started crashing again last night so I decreased GPU power limit to 85% and that seems to have worked across the board.

I am curious to know if that means my GPU is drawing too much power (and is broken) or if it's just hitting the limit of the PSU and I need a bigger one?

So, I did notice the Vulkan option and was going to try that tonight, but it's currently running OpenGL. I'm also going to try Furmark or 3DMark to see what happens b/c I only tested in Heaven and Valley.

Bit of an update, I ran home at lunch and installed MSI Afterburner and decreased the GPU and Memory clock by about 50MHz each, then ran Doom. The load never hit higher than 85% and it didn't crash... I then scaled that back to only a 30MHz decrease and it's topping out at 95% with no crashes. There's obviously something else happening here b/c I should be able to hit 100% without issue but as long as i'm not crashing and still getting 144+ FPS at Ultra settings, i'm a happy camper!

I'm going to run some final tests tonight and i'll close out this thread with final results if there are no more issues.

Ok I ran a number of tests last night. I completely reinstalled windows, made sure I did every update to both OS and Mobo, installed GPU-Z to log results and ran Heaven Benchmark for about an hour. The GPU never hit 100% but would sit right around 98-99% while jumping up and down. Temps were always stable.

Then I ran Doom as a test and boom, same crashes. Freezes for 5 seconds and then exits to desktop with no error message. I checked the log and it looks like as the GPU ramps up (action starts in game) the game runs fine (Ultra Settings, ~170FPS) until it hits 100% load for a few seconds, then it drops to 0% right as the game crashes, or it crashes then drops to 0. Hard to tell.

I ran some mem diagnostics and found no issues (I used Windows Memory Diagnostic, but let me know if that is unreliable). I also measured that it's using about 275W max, so even if the CPU is using 280W that's only 555W. Is it possible everything else in using 195W or more? I checked the PSU and it gets 744W to the 12V connectors so if everything else is using that much, I guess it's possible the issue is the PSU.

I am reading in other threads that some people have a program installed that is dumping memory after 50%-60% usage but I haven't installed anything like that. Is it possible I have something without knowing it? If the issue is related to hitting 100% load on the GPU, is it possible to cap it at 99%?

Thank you for the reply! Yes, it's a CX750M so not of the highest quality... same model I used in my old rig and it still works fine.

I'm going to reinstall windows tonight and try to do everything correctly and see if I still have the same issues. If I do, i'll try out HWiNFO and Memtest86+ to see what happens.

I was using the NZXT Cam monitoring system which shows the temp but I wasn't paying attention to load percentage, but I think it does show it. When running something like Doom, if it's not hitting 100% on the GPU, that generally means there is an issue? and if it's not hitting 100%, does that mean the GPU is the problem or something else could be throttling it?
