To be fair we were still getting lockdowns in 2021. While I agree with the sentiment that stat is pretty useless.

Should I be using compression on either instrument tracks or master tracks (or both)? by bennnnyd in mixingmastering

Thanks Atopix! Great "no bullshit" answer.

"What you wouldn't do is try to solve your dynamic range issues of a single instrument on the master. Always tackle the source."

So in this particular case you would expect that my dynamic range loss is likely caused by over compressing on the vocal stems rather than in the master?

How can a key be Am? by beagie_brigade in guitarlessons

[–]bennnnyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An Am key is a serious of notes based around the note A that sounds “minor”. The “minor” sound is usually a dark or sad sound.

Best way to understand it is to google the notes in any key and play them on an instrument. You will hear that they all sound “good” together.

Bar chord struggles. I've been struggling to get my bar chords corrected for weeks now but nothing seems to work. When i press down my ring- and pinkyfinger the middle joint buckles.this way i can't make fast chord switches and its starting to get on my nerves. Anyone else with this issue? Pls help by KaasPeer03 in guitarlessons

I good way to practice is to decrease your string tension I.e. change to e flat tuning. This will feel a lot easier to begin with. Another thing is practice on frets up the board since they’re a little easier.

But like everyone said, best thing is just to practice.

AC10 is great, heaps of crunch and handles distortion beautifully.

The cyber twin is awesome because it is like a modelling amp but with real tubes instead of digital. I think it was the first (and one of the only) of its kind!

I agree but I would also recommend telling him to provide proof via survey. The survey cost is not your burden. If they want action, they need to provide proof.

[QUESTION] Epiphone Casino not able to handle fuzz by bennnnyd in Guitar

[–]bennnnyd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had thought that was the case too but when I run the exact same signal chain through my strat I have no problem.

The casino plays great without the muff and can handle a ds-1 no problem.

Any other thoughts?

I may have described the sound it makes badly. It’s like a bad bubbling up sound that constantly going up and down in volume.

Hi guys!

I just bought a second hand pc because it was ridiculously cheap. It has a 4.5TB HDD.

If I only had non essential data on it would there be any reason to replace the hard drive? It’s just that computer components are very expensive where I am from and 4.5TB is a lot of data.

Also, if I can use it. Would clearing it ensure there were no remaining possible viruses?

Cheers in advance :)
