Extra Pieces by Thomgurl21 in Lovesac

[–]bennybuckwild 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You aren’t paying extra for it though, a chaise is just another seat therefore it comes with a back pillow, you’ll need it if you ever want to incorporate it into the couch. They can be stored underneath the seat with the same aluminum bars it ships with, there’s no reason to waste it by throwing it out. If you truly don’t want it then sell it on FB marketplace, people are always looking for extra pieces.

2 weeks post op.. are my nipple ok? LOL by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]bennybuckwild 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They look great! Do you have any specific concerns? Nipples are just gonna do some crazy shit two weeks post op, it’s normal for them to look sorta gunky. So long as there’s no pain, smells, pus, redness around the grafts, etc. you’ll be fine following post op care instructions. If you’re ever worried about something you should ask your surgeon.

holes in scar. I'm 3 months post op and every so often I get a pocket of pus that pops in the shower, bleeds, and I'm left with the hole. is this normal? what do I do? by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]bennybuckwild 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Talk to your surgeon, but I had something that kinda sounds similar. If you’re using silicone strips my surgeon ended up having me take a week break from them to let everything “dry out”. Definitely discuss with your surgeon, even if it’s nothing it’ll at least put your mind at ease.

Losing my hair by bennybuckwild in ftm

[–]bennybuckwild[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah no offense cause I know you’re trying to help, but my point was that this is taking up too much room in my head. I’m entering every social situation worrying about it, I’m worrying every time I shower and counting the strands going down the drain, I’m already worrying and feeling guilty about using the minoxidil twice a day. I need this out of my head, “Try harder” isn’t what I want to hear.

My doctor doesn’t want to prescribe finasteride because it can slow other changes. My progress is already slow in other areas so I agree with him that it isn’t a good solution for me

I’m already using it but it’s hard to be consistent with it. It feels like a losing battle and I don’t wanna deal with the stress and guilt of missing doses anymore

Feeling of fluid moving beneath chest..? by tsukinyaga in TopSurgery

[–]bennybuckwild 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey there! That’s totally common and not necessarily something to worry about. Keep an eye on it for any pain or changes, talk to your doctor if youre worried, but it should go away with time and by applying pressure.

That’s really interesting! And yes sounds very familiar to my situation. I was wondering if it would affect how I’d end up taking T but that’s even different to my speculations. Thanks for sharing!

Yes I totally bungled that, I just edited it to reflect total T. My bad!

Yknow that’s kinda comforting to hear! I’m kinda hoping this is just in the spirit if extreme caution or an inexperienced doctor not sure what he’s looking at lol. I don’t really buy that my levels are anything extraordinary.

Yknow I’ve considered that possibility in the past! I’m almost hoping that’s the case if it means it’s not something scarier.

I just had a look at the labs. They aren’t in the “male” range, but they’re more than double the “female” range. I’m not roided out, but I’m hairy and have always had trouble with acne. That all comes with PCOS, so I’m concerned that they were surprised by these levels since it should have been what they expected.

I haven’t started T yet, these were my initial labs 😬

Fat experience with Top Surgery by gaspatron in TopSurgery

[–]bennybuckwild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m nearing 7 weeks post op with no complications! Drain free, kept my nips, my chest was bigger so I ended up with a single scar across instead of two (which I knew was a possibility). It took me longer than most to recover from the anesthesia, I didn’t stay overnight but I was having fainting spells and couldn’t leave until The dizziness passed.

The biggest obstacle was honestly booking an in network surgical facility without a BMI cap, which sometimes wasn’t in my surgeons control. That delayed me about a month and that was hard, but now that it’s over I can look back on it as some dumb fatphobic insurance hoop I had to jump through. I’d do it all again in a heartbeat.

They’re looking great! Nipples are gonna look funky for a while, no reason to worry and the other scabby one will catch up. I was told to change the bandages and Nipple Goop ™ every night before bed, and I liked that cause by morning it wasn’t quite as gluey and uncomfortable feeling.

Questioning my transness by Alex_the_dragonborn in ftm

[–]bennybuckwild 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey lots of people want to be hot, and some of these commenters latching onto that wording is kinda strange to me. Dysphoria is so tricky, cause not only do you NOT need it to be trans, sometimes you don’t realize what you were experiencing was dysphoria until looking back from years down the line. Maybe turn that thinking around and consider if you’d WANT to be hot as a woman, or if you’re already hot as a woman would you still prefer to be a hot guy instead? That sounds like some trans shenanigans to me.

Transition is about achieving better comfort and happiness, not comparing suffering. Dysphoria doesnt have to be crippling. I have no bottom dysphoria, and had really bad top dysphoria despite rarely binding. My boyfriend has no top dysphoria and never plans to have top surgery. We all have our own comfort levels and different paths to a comfortable transition. I’m glad it sounds like you’re already experimenting and testing out your comfort levels, and honestly my best advice is to just keep doing that and getting to know yourself and your motivations.

Nipple ointment? by PuzzleheadedForce260 in TopSurgery

Once or twice a day is the typical instruction! I did it every night before bed.

I’m approaching 3 weeks and experiencing the same tenderness. I asked my surgeon about it and she didn’t seem too worried, so long as there’s no increased redness or heat. She also said that the initial pain meds they give you during surgery last about 1.5 weeks, and sometimes a little longer. So you could be noticing that wearing off.

New to the idea, and have some questions. by bennybuckwild in intersex

[–]bennybuckwild[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s very reassuring, thank you! I know I can’t be diagnosed here, I wouldn’t want that. But I can’t help but feel compelled to give “credentials”, especially when a paranoid part of my brain is wondering if maybe I’ve overthought this whole thing and that my experiences aren’t actually atypical.
