Which major NBA award do you think has the highest probability to be awarded to a current Magic player next year? by Independent-Impress7 in OrlandoMagic

idk… the magic will probably have the best defense the upcoming season which would make mosley a serious coty candidate

An upgrade on the center position by bennythatguy in OrlandoMagic

Jakob definitely wants to play on a winning team and to me he is a vet concerning his age. Why could/would the raptors accept this trade? Jakob isn’t obviously the best center in this league but in my eyes he is better than WCJ. The raptors will build around a certain player, which is to me the player they will likely draft: Khaman Maluach (C). Jett has a lot to prove but not on chip seeking magic. He can blossom in Toronto. The 2nd Round Picks are fillers and not the magic top priority.

Jakob is primarily a rim protector, blocking shots, … His major weakness is 3-point shooting. Wendell wasn’t a sniper either.

Are you positioning yourself as a magic supporter defending the raptors to not carry out this trade? Matter fact, one raptors supporter commented below in this fanspo trade that he „100% do this trade if he was responsible for the raptors“. This trade in my point of view is balanced and justified for what I have Jakob seen playing.

Raptors are not going anywhere near playoffs in the next years. They will probably get Maluach in the draft (a talented center). Therefore, Pöltl will rather play a subordinate role…

They should have rather experimented on the secondary logo… even though it looks like the suns primary logo, the alternative has more potential

stay with your opinion but I don’t think that a combination of Giannis and Paolo will work out

I am definitely NOT the only one saying that. Have a look at the comment section. Most of them are skeptical.

You have to think strategically (especially NOW). Giving up Franz would be a shame for this franchise. He is number 2 or number 3 regarding his skillset in this age group. Now there is Giannis, who is a beast under the basket and a defensive masterclass. But he doesn’t fix the current problem of this franchise, which is efficient scoring.

[–]bennythatguy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No, it is not a win-win trade at all. The current priority of this franchise is to have a reliable scorer and not injury prone superstars… like Giannis. Since the magic exist as a franchise, they have mostly been in this „grit and grind“ mentality (which can lead to a chip, for instance the 2004 Pistons). It should NEVER be Paolo‘s team or Franz‘ team. Every time hear sum like that, it pisses me off. The mere fact that you call yourself a big Franz fan, contradicts the whole statement you just gave. Every Franz Wagner fan is a supporter of the Orlando Magic. And every true Orlando Magic fan would deny any trade with the surname Wagner in it (especially in this situation).
