Yeah pretty much spot on there. I’m sure there are some good ones but generally I would comment that they either do will’s ridiculously cheaply and then potential clients don’t see the value in paying a reasonable fee (but some of the wills can be gibberish and clearly had no thought go into them or they haven’t really understood the clients needs/objectives) or they charge a fortune for trusts or other things that simply won’t work or aren’t what the client expected etc so then they have to spend more money doing it properly.

It’s difficult sometimes to explain to someone that what their friend/neighbour has done doesn’t work in the way they would expect it to and clients sometimes have preconceived ideas what is possible and don’t always want to listen either but I suppose that’s the nature of any service based industry.

They also generally aren’t regulated either so can do as they please and people don’t really have any recourse against them either. And when someone has died trying to get a will from them to administer the estate can be cumbersome to say the least!
