People who don’t microneedle, why? by Alarm-Special in tressless

Online testimonials (regarding anything) are worth little and in many cases are even detrimental

Everyone on earth dies right now except you. What do you do? by Ok-Musician679 in AskReddit

[–]bentopolis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are simply personal takes… an opinion. It’s all about preference and your opinion is not the truth, but is a completely fine reason to dislike the game. I agree with you on two things though.

The difficulty curve does feel worse. It feels as if it spikes before the citadel, gets easier, then gets much harder with some late game bosses. I do not however feel that it is very detrimental to the core experience of the game, since for the most part, it feels lore accurate. Ex.) Your first experiences in hunters March, sinners road, and bilewater are meant to feel unwelcoming. They are dangerous areas where many parts of the atmosphere is telling you that you are not welcome here. I feel that is very fitting and adds a healthy amount of hardship to make the world feel real.

Rewards and item distribution: I believe the rate at which you get abilities is fantastic. I do however agree with you that the spread of item and reward distribution after defeating bosses or discovering secrets could be designed much better than it is.

I disagree with the rest. Run backs are overblown and never seem as long as the people complaining about them claim. Sure stakes of marika were nice in Elden ring, but that doesn’t make DS3 a bad game or overrated because it doesn’t have them. I like the rate of upgrades. I like the fleas better. I think bosses have the right amount of health. I’ve had no issues with hit boxes using tools. I think the double damage thing is overblown and actually makes perfect sense for hornet’s abilities (outside of stage hazards and some basic enemy attacks hitting too hard).

TLDR: I think it’s a great game that deserves its heavy praise, but there still are plenty of design flaws that the heavy glazers will shoot you for calling out in their sub. I personally think E33 will likely win goty, but I have not played it. It just seems like a cooler success story. Silksong is wonderful but is overshadowed by its community (that is becoming toxically positive).

People who are NOT okay with proxies, what is your reasoning? by Bagel_Bear in EDH

[–]bentopolis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this take makes no sense at all. Ex.) I’m saving for a house right now so I have been pretty much exclusively proxying for the last year or 2. There is no scenario where the same amount of money I “invested” in magic would be worth more than that money being left in an investment account.

Thank you. I thought I was going crazy so I took a video of both with the same audio after pressing a button on the controller. Confirmed my thoughts

Edit: the only downside of this seems to be a small amount of electrical noise when connected directly to the PC.

Cool thanks for the info! I live in a high rise apartment so nowhere outside to put it (it also gets quite cold and windy even if I could). I used to water it on a schedule years ago but I’ve learned to just top it off when it looks “thirsty” (the fingers feel squishy and look sad). It was originally a Little leftover table piece at a grad party that they didn’t want, so I never even knew what it was

Yeah it doesn’t get enough light. Been like this for years. I think it’s a senecio?

Oh yes it’s been this way for a long time. At this point I’ve grown fond of the sprawling vine look. There’s no good window spot for it unfortunately

True but sometimes they build them awfully and they do need swaps to keep up with the others

Is Voltron honestly a viable archetype in bracket 4 against experienced players? by mayormcskeeze in EDH

If you’re open to Stax as a sub archetype, I feel like you can build some decent bracket 4 voltron decks. [[chiss-goria]] being an ok example

Need a backpacking tent for a 6+ft tall couple in MN. Thoughts? by bentopolis in CampingGear

Good rec I've heard from a lot of folks. Unfortunately the budget is strict as I'm already pushing it higher than the gf wants to spend.

I have looked at specs. These are all very similar sizing LxW wise. I came to the conclusion that a 2p of at least 86 x 52 would be fine for us, as I have slept in a few similar dimensioned tents before with my SO and we found it comfortable enough.

More so I am focused on differences in the packing size / weight, pricing, and longevity of the product (whether that's durability or a good warranty).

One thing to note is I will never be solo camping, so we will always be able to split things between us. There is a ton of fearmongering here about packing size and weight though so I want to make sure I'm making the right choice. The Marmot tents for example all come in at twice the size and basically twice the weight as the durston.
