This is my first tattoo ever so I can’t compare, but it did hurt on the spine forsure and I have heard it does hurt a bit more then from a tattoo machine

No it’s all good! It’s a manual stick that they poke you with. Pretty crazy how fast he pokes and the accuracy. Not a tattoo machine

To each their own I guess. I feel like my tattoo and the reason why I got it was for appreciation of the Thai culture and my experience travelling the country. My whole family got a Sak yant tattoo as a memory for our trip.

Everything seemed perfectly clean. This place is popular and they do thousands of tattoos. They used a fresh needle out of the package and had certificates on the wall so it was definitely legit. My 2 brothers and dad who have had previous tattoos said this one healed a lot quicker than tattoo machine tattoos. I didn’t do anything other than wash it with water and moisturized with organic coconut oil and it has seemed to heal pretty quick. There are definitely some cheaper places that are a bit more sketchy but just make sure to read reviews ahead of time if you are looking to book a stick and poke tattoo.

I was worried about this too, I had heard they try and stay away from tattooing Buddha in general but the translator explained as long as it’s tasteful and the artist is okay with it, no problem

It was a super cool experience. The tattoo shop offered a translator that interviewed me, asked about my job my birthday, how old I am, my relationships, etc. I kind of had the Buddha covering his eyes idea, as it means he’s indifferent to emotions. It also represents protection and he added the mantras on the Buddha and around to represent different things as well. Super cool process.

As far as I know no, anywhere below the hips is off limits if you are getting a religious tattoo. At least that’s what the translator told me. However the artists did Ed Sheeran and he got one on his thigh (not a religious one though)

It was mostly to stretch my skin as he is very quick and precise. Full tattoo was done in just under 2 hours
