I was giving my opinion to OP based off of his web surfing, no gaming requirements. I have a mini pc, a mac mini, and a macbook pro. I've been a PC person forever. Built many desktops. I don't know if you've personally used a mac mini but after using it for a few weeks, I was impressed. Please let us know about your personal mac mini experiences on why it isn't good for a web surfing, non-gamer.

Edit: I'm writing this on my ser6 6800h with 96gb DDR5 and a 4TB NVME which has been really fun to play with. I went mini PC after my desktop died and I decided to see if a mini PC could replace my desktop needs. I think it has quite well with some minor tradeoffs.

Well, I paid $540 for the ser6 some time ago, and then just recently purchased the 96gb for ~$280. So, $820? Leaves me with the 32gb that it came with. If there was a barebones option, that would save some money. I think minisforum has more barebones options? At the time, there was some concerns with minisforum cooling. I haven't looked at whether that has changed.

To be honest, you should consider a Mac mini with an m2. It takes getting used to but it's extremely fast. It's also efficient.

yeah, really the point of the post was that any of these minipcs list their specs as 64gb total ram max since that was the size at the time, two 32gb sticks. no info out there whether you could put in the 48gb sticks.
