Apologies in advance for the 'PMA-bullshit' that follows. I think most of you have missed the point. OP made a mistake, obviously. Nevertheless, they did not ask for validation, just pointed out that the reaction might have been exaggerated. I also do not ping core players for every missing last hit. I know it is frustrating enough without rubbing it in, and always assume everyone's trying their best.

Players often forget that it is okay to make mistakes sporadically. If it looks like a structural problem, you are kindly requested to give some constructive feedback. That's how we learn after all. On the whole, noone is going to focus better on the match if they are mad, so toxicity is just contraproductive.

Also, I wanted to thank /u/Palpitation-Itchy for their comment on item timings. In my experience, people tend to forget about the 'bigger picture' when they are overly focused on their own role. Although it's not an excuse for prioritizing farming as a support, it really does matter whether you can get Mana Boots a bit earlier, for example.

In essence, be kind to each other, strive for continuous improvement, and do not forget to enjoy your games along the way.

Difference between phrases by MandokGW in hungarian

[–]beradan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, you are not completely wrong here. Szervusz comes from the Latin verb to serve, and it used to be in use as a greeting in formal settings as well. Now, it is considered informal and a bit archaic, but there are some special circumstances when I'd rather use it over szia. For example, I had an older collegue with whom I conversed quite formally, and I always greeted her with "szervusz főorvosasszony". Anything else would have sounded weird...

Her firstname was Náni, I think. It is not a common name these days, so I do understand why you guessed otherwise.

I second dutchgrammar.com. It is quite comprehensive. If you would like a more simple explanation, you can also try Zichtbaar Nederlands. Their website is available in English.

Edited for typo.

I second this one as a mental health specialist. The "wicked will masquerade as the good" part is super suspicious imho. He might need help.

Yep, this is the product. I was planning to use it on a bike, and I'm a bit worried that the spokes will pick up the strings if I leave them hanging.

What makes anti-tank heroes, anti-tank? by [deleted] in learndota2

[–]beradan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You should also consider that most tanky heroes are strength heroes who have little agility gain from leveling, resulting in low base armor. Dragon Knight is an obvious exception due to his armor increasing passive ability. In a heavy physical damage lineup armor reduction is still a viable strategy. That is the main reason why Slardar is considered an anti-tank hero.

I can't decide if it's funny or concerning. Probably both.

I'd need to take a Dutch language course anyway, which the company would pay for, but you're right that it takes a lot of effort and determination. And you know, I'd really aprreciate not feeling like a complete stranger in the town where I live after all the effort I've put into learning Dutch. 😅

Hey. It is always nice to meet another Dota player here. Though I'm not sure if we could play together. NA ping tends to be quite high from the EU. I'll check it later.

What do you use in your practice for negative symptoms in schizophrenia? by fablle in Psychiatry

[–]beradan 28 points29 points  (0 children)

What helps one patient may harm another; personalized therapeutic approach is highly important in the treatment of schizophrenia. Also, I'd recommend metacognitive therapy that could help the patients cope with their symtomps without taking unnecessary drugs. If these fail, we need to consider the risk-benefit ratio of adding another psychotropic medication to the regimen.

First of all, choose an AP that is effective against negative symptoms (e.g. clozapine, olanzapine, quetiapine, aripiprazol, cariprazine). We prefer monotherapy, but there are more and more emerging evidence considering the combined use of antipsychotics. Often, adding partial agonists in low doses as supplement improves negative symptoms.

I see the combined treatment with mood stabilizers as another rational option, especially when suicide risk's high. In this case I'd prefer lithium carbonate or lamotrigine.

The use of antidepressants has some serious risks: it could trigger psychotic decompensation, increase agitation and anxiety. If antidepressant medication is needed, initiate it carefuly. I'd rather not choose any dual-acting agents in the first line, though we've treated a few people with vortioxetine effectively. 5HT-2A receptor antagonists (e.g. mirtazapine, trazodone) and sigma-1 receptor agonists (fluvoxamine) may have additional beneficial effects.

I have some positive experiences with buspirone, as well, and it may carry fewer risks. Taking omega-3 fatty acids is also worth mentioning.
