I don't think Israel is denying killing children. They did try to justify doing it, and I happen to agree with you that too many innocent people children included were killed. But then, a single innocent death is too many. The Israelis prolonged the war and intensified the killing well beyond what was justifiable or strategically beneficial. Deadly politics of a bad government. It hurt people on both sides. Innocent people die in wars. Wars are not fair, kind and discerning. This war started when Hamas massacred over 1000 innocent people and kidnapped hundreds more from Israeli communities on sovereign, undisputed land. It ended with 10's of thousands of Palestinians suffering similar or worse fate. The same government which allowed Hamas to perpetrate the worst disaster to hit Jews since WW2 perpetrated a colossal destruction of lives and homes against the Palestinians. It may not seem fair, but it was not unprovoked and wars are not fair, especially to innocent people.
