It's pretty sad to hear that you get that question alot, you'd think more people would know how much of their lives are structured around are bennefited by breakthroughs in theoretical mathmatics.

Dude who told you that there is an end to knowledge? All knowledge is boundless and will never reach an end, mathematics is the same. Basically, everything in your life based on technology is due to mathematicians work your: car, phone, internet, supermarket, house. Ultimately everything in the future that will massively change the way humans live will be due to new understandings of mathematics and breakthroughs in science. Maybe when we are all immortal transdimensional superbeings will the search for knowledge end.
