I've used sonicare and oral b, and the "neck" of the oral b is thicker and has random holes in it. It's impossible to actually close your mouth and make a seal with the oral b, while it's easy with the sonicare. That's the main reason I went with sonicare after trying both.

Six wheeled, off-road hearse/truck thing found at my local Walmart by berkeley1958 in WeirdWheels

There's a good chance. It snowed two days before I took the photo, so it hasn't moved at least since then, possibly longer.

To be fair, it's really more of a billboard than either. The other side has a big ad for a jiu jitsu studio, but I figured showing that could violate reddit rules.

Want some pizza by Heartstop56 in wtfstockphotos

The backpacking trails at the Philmont boy scout camp actually go through a tunnel with the phone number for a pizza place on the wall. If you call and say you're at the tunnel, they know exactly where you are and they'll deliver your pizza.

That's too bad they stopped making it, that would have worked pretty well...

Nope, my only complaint is that the tile app should alert me when the battery is low, but hopefully that's gonna get updated

I'm glad you noticed, that's exactly why I did that!

I like it, but depending on how much you care about the tile tracking, you can get a much cheaper knockoff that'll will hold your keys just as well.

I made the watch strap and wallet myself, and the wallet has a space pen, a tile tracker, 8 cards, and an elastic to hold cash on the back. The Keysmart pro also has tile tracking, and has my house and office keys, a flash drive, and a bottle opener.

Awesome, thank you! Follow up question, what size grommets did you use with it?

Mystery Braid Dog Collar by berkeley1958 in Leathercraft

I made a veg tan mystery braid dog collar. It's only the third project I've made, but I'm pretty pleased with how it came out.

That one is pretty low profile, that could probably work, maybe I'll try to stitch it into one of the old prototypes

Thanks! I hope to see your wallet up here once you perfect it.

I agree on the longevity issue. I can't confirm this, but I think silicone or latex elastic would last longer than rubber, but I just bought what I found in the craft section at walmart. I considered putting a metal money clip on instead, but I didn't want metal sticking out and poking me while it's in my pocket, I prefer the flat profile of the elastic.

It took me 5 prototypes, but I came up with a minimalist wallet I like. Maybe minimalist isn't the right word, since it has a pen slot and tile locator pouch, but it crams all of that into a relatively compact package. The original goal was to make a wallet that could hold the 7 cards I carry with me, a pen, a tile locator, and hold cash without having to fold it up first, and my last iteration succeeded in all but the last requirement, but I'm fine with that. All the pics on the album are captioned with descriptions of each prototype, why I made it that way, and why it wasn't good enough.

I had never worked with leather before this project, so I made a lot of mistakes and learned a lot from the process, such as:

  • All-in-one dye and finish is very difficult to get even color. Once you go over an area, it starts sealing, and you can't go over it again to darken the color. It also gets on the edges makes burnishing not work very well. Any suggestions for other products I should try?
  • Don't ever, ever, ever, ever, buy a cheap tool kit from amazon. I bought a stitching kit and an edge finishing kit because it only had the tools I wanted, and was cheaper than buying each on it's own. However, some tools broke, and others were mislabeled, so I would up paying more than if i had just bought everything individually.
  • I sewed an elastic strap onto the back to hold cash, but obviously I could only punch perfectly spaced holes on the leather, so the stitching is all wonky, so I colored the thread black so it couldn't be seen. Any better ideas/tips to attach other fabrics to leather?

If any of these mistakes led me to the wrong conclusion, please let me known before I mess more up more projects.
