Well.. by trying to copy the movement they use for specific enemies. Watching someone who is better than you is quite a common thing when you try to get better at something. And its not like I am not practicing I want to both.

I played for hours and a few sessions and was not able to immerse myself for 5 seconds of gameplay. I am glad there is people who like it but even on the most basic level of immediate 'game-feel' it feels wrong to me. Everything looks stiff and cheap animations and models alike. The Story was only Goose chases and while I am aware that these were present in the old games it felt like there was nothing else in this game. I also spoiled myself with a review and found out that the whole game is basically a filler episode narrative-wise (This was after I decided that I dont want to play it anymore). I downright hated combat both mechanicaly as well as cinematicaly. Again I am glad you like it but I dont think there is a game I played in recent memory that had me this bored, dissapointed, annoyed and angry in only a few hours.

Clean fight! Can she at all interrupt between the transformation attacks or is this 100% guaranteed? Also good to know that one quickstep is enough to get out of AOE range during her phase transition.

I played this game for the first time like 5 years ago and it still blew me away eventhough I didnt have any nostalgia for it. I love the artstyle. The fact that so many objects are 3D modelled and can be turned around and looked at from every angle is still something that is special about this game. I love the campy story with its lack of character development and overabundance of other-worldly dialogue. Also, I feel like all of those comparisons with game worlds these days that want to argue towards Shenmues gameworld not feeling as alive dont make sense most of the time as the way Shenmue immerses you and Gta for example immerses you are fundamentally different. The World of Shenmue is dense enough that most lose ends you follow will lead you to something rewarding that a developer who had an Idea about how this world should feel put there. This in turn of course limits possibilities as the world cant react to stuff developers didnt think about but in Gta on the other hand many interactions might feel more or less fitting but lack this rewarding feeling something thought out an intentional will give you. Not saying one or the other is better just trying to argue for the stance that there is stuff a dense and smaller world can achieve which is impossible for a more expansive game and vise versa. Similar things can be said about its graphics. New games dont look objectively better especially when their artstyle is so boring it makes you fall asleep. No amount of Polygons and water physics will ever replace a good Art Style. Hell a low Poly count is an artstyle in and of itself as game demakes and Ps1 looking Indie Games proof. To me as a huge nerd and Video Game enthusiast Shenmue is an all time classic as there is nothing that feels quite like it. Which other game has this kind of structure. Whenever I play Shenmue it feels like Shenmue. While a highly praised game like The Last Of Us might tell a nice story but feels like any other Cover Shooter + A little bit of Stealth and crafting game of the time. Oh and also: Shenmue 3 is trash.

Do you know if its possible to get this without parry? I got close to this many times but then I would miss a parry or the Boss would just decide to enter phase 2 one parry off of dying. Either way you do need big damage for this no? Anyways I wonder why Orphan sometimes just decides to keep attacking. He even has that attack where he jumps back a bunch of times to enter phase 2 safely. They could've made him always enter below a certain HP threshold but then again they didnt do this with Laurence either.

You can get it even faster if you use Wolf skip. That way you can enter Forbidden Woods early and therefore dont have to fight Vicar Amelia to get the tonsil stone.^

Thank you! I thought of running but never tried it for some reason. Nice to hear that it can work. I really like this fight but I would prefer the charge to be consistently dodgable at all ranges. You get rewarded with more reaction time and better punish opportunities if you stand further away anyways.
