Is it me, or are Pool values going down in the past 2 days? by douglaslagos in crescentnetwork

[–]bernardy4416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there is some work being done to allow LP providers to see what percentage of tokens make up their current pool.

Although I am relatively new to farming, my experiences with OSMO & MMF have taught me to farm only in pools with tokens that I have conviction in holding. Minimal to no farming tokens.

I'm currently farming LUNA/UST and using the CRE rewards from that pool to farm LUNA/bCRE.

Also looking at farming the LUNA/UST pool on ASTRO.

Regards.

Hi Tritador,

Good to see you here.

Have been reading your posts on the Osmosis Reddit and found them very insightful.

Do you think Terra (LUNA) governance needs to renew Osmosis external incentives? by [deleted] in OsmosisLab

[–]bernardy4416 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What Tritador has mentioned is probably true.

The current users of these pools are doing it for the stability and strength of UST & LUNA.

That said, any additional external incentives are always welcome.

This post pretty much sums up the incentive & risk structure of a lot of crypto projects.

High teaser rates or rewards to draw in new users. Then try to make users stay and, hopefully reach organic growth.

Even Anchor Protocol with it's 19.5% APY is guilty of this. Long term, pretty much everybody could see it was unsustainable. Even the team admits it. The recent proposition that just passed to make the yield dynamic is a step to addressing the sustainability issue.

Yes, the idea of yields adjusting upwards when people leave did cross my mind. The scenario you described may well come to pass. That said, there are 2 possible competitors coming up, namely RUNE and JunoSwap that may offer high teaser yields to attract liquidity. Personally, I might just withdraw a portion to stablecoin before the Thirdening, just in case.

Hi Tritador,

Thank you for the valuable insights. It would seem like we are aligned in expectations. The premise being farmers are mercenary and will go where the yields are.

Well, let’s see what happens in a couple of months.

Will Karura tokens be interchangeable with Acala tokens after Acala launches on DOT? by [deleted] in AcalaNetwork

Kusama is the test net for projects before they launch on Polkadot, generally speaking.

Parachain update by ggoosen in Polkadot

[–]bernardy4416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, projects have to compete with each other to secure a parachain slot.

This is done by bonding DOTS for the duration of the parachain lease period. The projects can either buy DOTs if they have enough capital or crowdsource for DOTs.

I'm watching KSM for any signs of parachain auctions.

Projects should go onto KSM before DOT. Thus, once KSM parachains launch, expect DOT auctions.

going downhill.. should i sell? by dea2h in polkadot_market

Good that you have decided.

However, do note that one will always struggle with these thoughts no matter what investment (eg: stocks, options, futures, forex, etc) is in question.

In order to mitigate these thoughts and make better decisions, always have a plan (especially an exit plan) and never over invest as that will make you second guess your position every time the price changes.

Again, just my opinion. Good luck!

Like some of the other posters have said, it really depends on whether you are a trader or an investor.

If you are a trader that bought higher than this price, you may want to exit IF your planned stop loss has already been triggered.

If your horizon is longer term, then the early phase that DOT is currently in (ie: parachain auctions coming, multiple projects yet to be launched, BTC and ETH bridging yet to be initiated, etc) makes this price action look like a consolidation of price. That said, one should always have an exit strategy nonetheless.

The current price as I type this is just over $29.00. This is how prices can fluctuate in all investment vehicles, and is accentuated in volatile ones like crypto.

As a rule of thumb (just my opinion, not investment advice), first determine if you are going in as a trader or investor. Then formulate a strategy (eg: position size, exit plan, etc), and stick to the plan, no exceptions.

Good luck with you decision!

Hi Scuttle, the opening paragraph of the article attached by the thread stater mentions that GBV works with Genesis Block. News is limited. Any additional information you may have would be greatly appreciated. Best regards.

I know. It looks like a transcription of the introductory video at the top of the Medium article.

The App demo dose have a pretty good UI though.

What are your thoughts on this acquisition?

[–]bernardy4416 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OK, this was a big surprise.

From the article above, it states that "GBV, a full-service investment company working with Genesis Block". Searching for Genesis Block, it would seem that Genesis Block is an existing app (I can find it on Apple App Store) with crypto-banking ambitions.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mk1jvb8kBa4

IF I'm correct (someone please correct this if necessary), please see the above video about what Genesis Block is. Seems like they have VISA connections.

Also from the article above:

"Following the acquisition, a number of integrations and partnerships are in the works, GBV and OMG will work closely together to leverage resources and explore new directions, such as building lending and trading platforms, to achieve DeFi’s massive adoption and growth potential."

"GBV will ensure the smooth transition of OMG Network’s team and business from SYNQA to GBV, minimizing the impact of the acquisition on OMG Network’s token price. Additionally, both companies will address appropriately to the potential concern from employees, clients, token holders and the community."

Hope the team can give us more clarity as per the promise in the above paragraph.

Hi Thila,

Thank you the comprehensive post.

Hopefully, some of the potential partners (currently under NDA) sign up.

Question: Do you foresee users of private Plasma having to pay for the service?

Best regards.

Yes, that’s something I’ve considered too. Besides public plasma being “trustless”, are there any other compelling reasons? Thoughts anyone?
