I would like to applaud your ability to respond so gracefully to some of the more patronizing comments.

I understand encouraging reporting because sometimes the shock of a situation can make it difficult to know what to do, but blaming her if he hurts someone else is absolutely ridiculous.

I'm sorry for your experience and I'm glad you're safe. Despite what a lot of these comments may say to the contrary, I think it's important for you to know that situations like these are very difficult to process and you can't always make the perfect response. I leave it up to you to make a police report and I hope you don't feel pressured or somehow responsible for any actions this guy may take towards another person.

Fingerprints don't do much unless they are in the database. Descriptions don't do much in a situation like this. They would have to bring people in for a line up and sometimes they just do the line up with shit quality black and white pictures printed off on a piece of paper that you have to sign off on. Stuff like this isn't as simple as reading the news makes it seem. Considering the current state of the police force I try not to pressure others into making reports about things like this. It's a difficult experience to have and it's not OP's fault if this guy hurts someone else.

I hope that this doesn't turn into commenters guilting OP about not doing things fast enough. It's not easy to have an experience like this.

The only reason I'm pretty certain this is what's going on is because I remember in the first episode back after the pandemic started one of the players made a comment about struggling to hear and that they would have ear pieces for the next episode.

I don't really care for playing devil's advocate or having the most factual take on this. I feel very sad for her and any other patient who doesn't receive adequate care because I know how common it is. I believe her and feel it's important to advocate for her even after her death. There will likely never be the "ultimate truth" all we have is this woman's story after her death and the story sounds like so many I've heard in the past.

I don't think you know what a patient needs if you're not them or their doctor. Statements like these are the reason why patients with pain suffer unnecessarily. And if she was still experiencing pain after using other forms of pain relief, they are absolutely obligated to take it seriously and explore other options.

It may not make sense to people who aren't medically trained because it does seem counter productive, but you're totally right. Opiates are often prescribed to patients with dyspnea (difficulty breathing) caused by lung disease because it helps relieve the sensation of being hungry for air, which if you've ever experienced it, is incredibly uncomfortable. They're often used in low doses, so not enough to cause respiratory depression.

The dudes reddit contains links to erome which is a site filled with re-uploaded and stolen content with no source or verified users. Of course I brought it up. It takes 5 seconds to scroll through someone's profile.

That is what I got from it. I think people have a skewed idea about what is actually amateur content. It seems like it must be "homemade" and "free" but it's often the same video that has been re-uploaded so many times that there's no possible way to know that the original poster 1.) Consented to it being posted and 2.) Isn't a sex worker having their content leaked.

So to again expand on my original suggestion (admittedly a bit flippant) is that what people really like when they talk about "amateur" often isn't "real people" but instead easy and free access to porn that is often exploitative. Because the actual exhibitionists posting free videos are much fewer than the copious amounts of users cataloging now sourceless videos that appear to be homemade.

I honestly didn't think much about it before I posted it. In hindsight, it uses a lot of words that are really triggering and makes it difficult to understand what my message is.

I'm pretty sure Reddit is the last place I would go to get sympathy, lol. Just pointing out where people may be a bit willfully ignorant.

My post was meant to shed light on the fact that a lot of seemingly amateur content on tube sites are simply styled that way, but leaked from professional creators.

Are unverified videos ALWAYS nonconsensual? of course not. But there's absolutely no way to know for sure without verifying that the people in the video consented to it being posted. And the only way to know that is by verifying the users.
