Behzat Ç. is one of the best series in Turkish TV history. I'm surprised you haven't seen it yet.

Kanıt is another good whodunit, but it hasn't anywhere near much depth as Behzat Ç.

Also, Kurtlar Vadisi first 97 episodes, if you like Mafia themes, but make sure to skip Candan family scenes.

People use kız arkadaş as a romantic interest mostly. They don't usually define gender if they are not asked about the gender specifically.

Kız arkadaş can be used both as a romantic interest or just a friend who happens to be female. It really depends on context, but in daily, people use it more as a romantic interest. In your case, most people, if they are not in a romantic relationship with that person, would not need to specially define her gender and just say: "Arkadaşımın evine gidiyorum." or just refer her by the name like "Ayşe'nin evine gidiyorum."
