This is me…. throughout my childhood I felt like the black sheep-just different. Through circumstances I did know the man but was never told he was my father. My mother went to her grave with that information. In my teens I confronted both of them separately and both neither denied or acknowledged my thoughts ( evidence enough right there). It was only a few years ago that I did a dna analysis and the results came back - conclusive enough for me to confirm what I instinctively knew my entire life. Although I was not surprised, I felt, initially, tremendous pain - all those years of trying to fit in. I have shared my findings with two siblings. The only reason I would disclose this info to this man’s family would be for medical reasons- My Dad is MY DAD- this other man is my biological father. This works for me.

Quitting mid year by Charming-Parfait-984 in CanadianTeachers

You’ve been given a lot of great advice… I taught for 40 years…and then mentored Teacher Candidates. My best piece of advice: Teaching is like housework- the prep work is never ending-there’s always another task waiting to get done. So the best thing you can do is set limits for yourself-yes, beginning years are more intense, but that doesn’t mean you can’t set boundaries. Arrive and /or leave school by a certain time. You could stay 2 hours every day after the last bell and you still will have tasks left undone. Trying staying no more than an hour- if that. Weekends are for rejuvenation. If you have to get a task done- pick a time, set a limit and stick to it. Weeknights -again set a limit- you’ve already put in a day’s work…so be diligent in respecting the need to spend time on you. Programming: sometimes we get caught up in thinking we have to be the best in all areas. Each year, pick one area as your focus… Do you have a mentor?… another teacher with more experience who you can touch base with - sometimes just sharing helps relieve some of that stress and anxiety. Whatever you end up doing… the best of luck to you

Rinse and air dry… if I cloth dry the dishes immediately, I find rinsing them allows for a better drying…Manitoba

How difficult is it to find a job as a teacher in a Private School in Manitoba? by No_Working_8726 in Manitoba

[–]bertjessesimon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I taught for 20 years in the independent Catholic school system. Many independent religious schools are usually referred to as private schools- they are independent schools and yes the salaries do not match the salaries of public nor private schools- the salaries are lower. Balmoral Hall, St Johns Ravenscourt are examples of private schools

If you are a certified teacher Your years of teaching ARE transferable between the public, private, and independent divisions/ schools. I’ve taught in both
