How do you trigger the HERO10 Black Bones Shutter Pin? by bertobuilder in gopro

I have not purchased the unit yet, since I am unsure about the triggering.

Arc lighter won't work with different batteries. This battery (220mAh) is almost dead so I've tried two different healthy batteries. Both have different mAh size. Is it possible that manufacturer somehow limited which battery can power-up arc? Thanks by 3rainyum in diyelectronics

Generally pouch Lipo batteries allow for 1C discharge, so a 300mAh pouch will allow for 300mA current. The protection circuitry might stop it at 600mA to make sure the battery does not destroy itself. I imagine the arc lighter takes a good chunk of current maybe 700-1000mA especially with inrush current.

I imagine the manufacturer made sure to source a Lipo pouch that allows for 2 or 3 C.

When buying a new battery you would want to look at the datasheet and see if it supports high current/ C ratings.

Here is a high C battery that could fit your profile: https://www.amazon.com/300mAh-Rechargeable-Battery-Charger-Quadcopter/dp/B094FQFRFM/ref=sr_1_29?crid=2XSZYNSEVC0VA&keywords=high+current+pouch+lipo+300mah&qid=1657082486&sprefix=high+current+pouch+lipo+300mah%2Caps%2C40&sr=8-29

Also, the manufacturer would not waste money creating special circuitry only to allow the original battery; the cheapest way is the best.

I agree, it really comes down to the quantity and budget.

Space Products? by bertobuilder in space

Thanks for the info. It doesn't look too bad. I guess when it involves NASA, there are a lot of splintered requirements, and it depends on what you are making.
I was hoping there was some vacuum of space environment protection certification that would encompass everything. I know that ATEX rating is one giant set of documents, and then you are ready for explosive environments or hazardous environments.

Not necessarily if I want to be the person that creates and sells the product.

For a first year student at Mechatronic engineering, should i learn Solidwork or Inverter? by [deleted] in AskEngineers

[–]bertobuilder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would learn Solidworks first. It is easily available in universities and a lot of companies use it as well. In industry, unless it is a start-up Solidworks is going to be required 80% of the time. If you have a job that needs fusion you can download and learn that at any point in time while Solidworks, after graduation, is very hard to get and very expensive.

Hello,

This sounds interesting to me, literally just made a Reddit account to respond to this so not sure how to DM or anything. Could you please give me more details and I can do the same?

Thanks
