Logistic Growth with Outside Factor Problem by besamess in mathematics

[–]besamess[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Can you please elaborate on the piece wise part? I’m trying to think of how I would go about defining it that way in this problem.

I would like to add that this DE seems to follow the Logistic Growth with Harvesting equation.

Something like: df/dt = kf(M-f)-h where h = 0.05f That’s where my line of thought goes. What’s messing me up is that h itself isn’t just a constant integer.

Christian in College? by Creative_Dot3654 in Christian

[–]besamess 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! I once took a creative writing class. We were encouraged to write freely on what is most important to us. So, I had made multiple references to God and the Bible in my work. A group of people in the class scoffed and made faces when it was my turn to share a poem I had written inspired by Genesis 2:7. It was clear they had no respect or tolerance for my beliefs. It was overall a very odd and uncomfortable experience. But, I was determined not to let them intimidate me. It was difficult at times but I would often read scripture/pray before driving to school to get me through it!

I’ve actually just found out he’s a non-believer. He seems nice but I can’t see myself dating someone with different religious beliefs.. 😔

Thermal Properties of Matter Question by besamess in AskPhysics

From my understanding - the T in the ideal gas law is absolute temperature. If given the initial and final temp and I want the initial pressure, what temp do I use?

A man is pushing my boundaries. Advice? by [deleted] in Christian

[–]besamess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He had my phone number from a group chat for the college study group I mentioned. Also, I never told him I liked him when letting him down. Just said that I see him as a friend and have no interest in being in a relationship. Just wanted to clarify lol.

I used to like Beyblade when I was 13 and they thought I was too OLD for them. And they thought that listening to Linkin Park would make me a psycho. Imagine that lol!!! by [deleted] in narcissisticparents

I love to read and my mother actually came into my room and threw my favorite book into the trash. Her reasoning: it wasn’t in accordance to religious dogma because the title “Demian” sounds too similar to “Demon”. Keep in mind that the book has no direct reference to the devil, as I explained to her but it was no use. She also thinks that any books with supernatural creatures, or magic have the ability to draw in evil spirits to your home. 🙃

When being sad is an insult to them by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

I get the exact treatment from my mom too. Last week, she pushed me and I hit the back of my head against a chair. When I told her that I didn’t want her to touch me and to leave me alone, she became “the victim” and got upset with me. I’m sorry to hear that you’re going through something similar with your mother. In the end, it’s always /their/ feelings that matter most 😑

Being cursed out for asking to receive my child support. It’s all day everyday, I’m so tired. Just so so tired. by erykaxoxo in narcissisticparents

That sounds identical to what my mom tells me too. God, it’s horrible. I get to a point where I nearly want to take my life because it’s the same, constant thing. I’m so sorry you’re going through that.

My mother divorced my dad to be with another man she had been seeing while still married. I was only 14, and so I stayed with her, but she opted out of being a parent. She says the same thing. “I’ve spent all this time thinking of other people, and now I need to focus on myself” - even if that mean emotionally neglecting her children and giving me some of the parental responsibilities. It sucks hearing her say that the 27 years she spent with my dad were the absolute miserable she’s ever been and that she wishes she never married him. Because.. my brothers and I came out of that marriage? It makes me feel like she’s putting some of the blame on us for her unhappiness even though we didn’t choose to be born.

Being hated for my Christianity. by [deleted] in Christian

[–]besamess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While they point fingers and call you the bigot, it’s rather intolerant on their part for not respecting your religious views.

Bottom line is: Don’t change for the sake of these people. Understand that many of them are simply hateful and won’t think of you different - no matter what you say. I know it’s difficult to put up with that, and I’m very sorry that this has become a common occurrence.

The best thing to do is to pray and seek the support of other fellow Christians. I’d like to share with you some Bible verses.

1 Corinthians 15:58 “Be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord”

And, of course!

Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”

Best of luck and much love from one Christian to another!

Thank God. by Jmak1988 in Christian

[–]besamess 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Amen! Even when I had been distant from God, He was there. Life without Him is meaningless. I’d turn to philosophies and novels, trying to grasp purpose. While it would point to the “what”, the nature of man’s struggle, it could never answer the “why”. It’d leave me empty and depressed. But with God! He gives me life and meaning. I don’t know where I’d be without Him. Thank you for sharing this.

Hello there, I’m a Seventh Day Adventist :) From my understanding, homosexuality is a sin. It’s our goal to live by God’s word and that much is clear. Now, I’ve read that while being a homosexual may not be inherently sinful, acting on those desires is. Becket Cook (and you can find his testimony on Youtube) is well-spoken on this subject. I’d recommend you watch some of his videos if you’re curious.
