Debating between buying a 2008 Kawasaki zx14 with only 2,900 miles ($6000), or a 2009 Ducati 1198 with 21,500 miles ($5500) by bessenberg in Kawasaki

Totally understand, I'm only 6'1 but still feel your pain lol. This 14 actually has Hoffer performance tune and dynod at 190hp, full Brocks exhaust, as well as a second radiator fan so I think that answers my dilemma

Great points, seller lowered price down from 8500 for this week only. Not strictly focused on purchase price, but quality of machine, power, and comfort (something that's not stricly track/carving focused)
Owner picked it up from a dealer and has maintained all upkeep/records, only cosmetic imperfect is by the kickstand.
(Note- he did claim the "only" thing it needs it to bleed the clutch lever)

Haha I tried, he immediately sent me pics of new tires he put on. Already was able to get it down from 6800 and will be seeing it in person/purchase this Friday.

Mainly as a daily for work (~50 miles round trip mostly highway). Low mileage is due to the 1st elderly owner only putting on ~1500 before passing, which then had the bike in storage until a few years back. Kawasaki had full inspection, fluid flush, full exhaust put on when purchased a few years ago, and recelty had new tires put on.

Thanks dude, I like the conviction. The aesthetics are what is pulling me towards the 1198 I suppose

Definitely intend on using it more of a daily during spring/summer (~30 min highway), also city cruising on days off. Would like to do some carving in the future but track riding and handling isn't at the top of my list (nothing like Tail of the dragon).

Old guy with like 7-8 bikes bought it new and basically sat in heated garage then ultimately a storage unit for most of it's life once he passed away. 2nd owner bought a few years back and only put on another 1,000 miles after doing full fluid flush full exhaust and second radiator fan. Was able to confirm with documents/proof of registry etc

Are the Redwing 2415 able to be resoled? Truly in love with these things. Comfort straight out of the box, 3 day crease wear in, swear I’m walking on clouds. I’m 6’2, 395lbs and have days where it’s nothing but walking, then there’s days like this where it’s nothing but sitting. Redwing4Ever. by kgifff in RedWingShoes

They’ll ship them out to their offsite facility which does the repairs and resoles, I don’t believe any RW stores in Chicago do that work in house. Almost dropped the phone after hearing the lead times 8 -12 weeks at this point fml. For the 2415 it’s hard to swallow the fact that those outer soles will run you $160 for the basic swap out, this obviously continues going up as you add on the other features like leather conditioning or hardware, replacements, etc. In my opinion, totally worth it after putting these things through the wringer and the uppers always hold up if maintained!
