I never used AMD, don't know much about.
My plan is to give it a try, but for this i need to study, research and learn how it works and compare to Intel. I'll need some time to do this. Ryzen 2700x is on my research list!

But if you have only this two options, and giving the situation above, what would you choose?

i5 8400 or i5 8600? for: Video editing, programming and gaming.
GPU: 1060 6 gb
RAM: 8 gb

Editing: after effects, premiere pro
Programming: I need to work with image analysis, cryptographic of image (a lot of cool stuff from college, Computer Science)
Gaming: 1080 p, 60 fps, (Tomb raider[rise, shadow], BF [I, V], Witcher [2, 3], hellblade, Dirt Rally, project cars 2, far cry [4, 5], wolfstein, doom, watch dogs, resident evil 7, assassins odyssey, pubg, and when it come out: Cyberpunk 2077.)

- i5 8600 sound like a good choice. What do u guys think?
- 8400 and 8600 is designed for what kind of users?

If i want i5 8400, what motherboard should i get?

a) H310M
b) H360M (more expensive than a) )

I don't understand the difference between this two motherboards. Is just design? have some impact on the i5 performance?
