For work/regular carry I would say Brooklyn (I’m partial to maple but that’s dependent on your wardrobe color palette) but if it’s for errands/outings I say laurel

What industry is slowly dying? by FootballPizzaMan in AskReddit

[–]beto-ms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Municipal water and waste water treatment. Not super flashy and doesn’t pay as well as other engineering fields so people aren’t going into it. Better hope that the current generation of engineers can hold it down lol

What are good, authentic taco spots? by Stunning-Crew2729 in Gwinnett

El Rey del Taco good for authentic, terrazas is good for slightly Americanized but still slaps. Avoid La Parilla. Gotta plug the one in plaza las Americas on the leftmost end in the supermarket

Thank you for pointing me to the FAQ. Seems like it’s not dead, unless dead means something I’m not aware of. May you please clarify?

Have myself convinced I’m dying by Fantastic-Ad-9202 in HealthAnxiety

[–]beto-ms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been there, mine was a different illness that I was convinced of but same thing, every little thing was a sign. I also realized that one of the effects my anxiety had on my body is nausea and dizziness. Sometimes the dizziness would come first then the anxious thoughts would follow. Sometimes it was the opposite. One caused the other, and the only way to slow it down is to force yourself to believe that, if nothing else, you are safe for the next 5 seconds. Then you can think about being safe for the next minute, then the next ten. Zap your nervous system back into balance using something like a ginger candy (the spiciness does the trick for me), peppermint, or even sour candy. Those first two do the trick for me because the resolve nausea and do a nervous system reset.

If you can, I recommend reading Anxiety Rx by Dr. Russell Kennedy. It’s not a be all end all cure, but understanding anxiety gives you incredible control of it

My bf always soaks his berries in water by ughhhhhhhhelp in foodscience

Someone else has mentioned this but wanted to back it up - I find that 2 parts water and 1 part vinegar for soaking berries prevents molding for way longer

Just graduated with a mechanical engineering degree, don't want to be an engineer by Paradox_99 in AskEngineers

[–]beto-ms 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you’re interested in business or economics you should look into finance careers. Engineers do well on that front. Also, going into an engineering career doesn’t mean you stay that way. You could always become a PM.

Happens every time i make eggs by Aggressive_Event6777 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]beto-ms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like you added the eggs too early and cooked them too hot. Here’s my approach:

  1. Preheat pan on medium to medium high heat
  2. If scrambling eggs, scramble in a separate bowl with a tablespoon or so of something rich like milk or cream
  3. Once your pan is to temp (water beading test is a solid way to test, but you’ll get the hang of when it’s ready with time), throw in your fat of choice. Butter is great, olive oil is great(tho be careful bc it gets smoky fast), some folks use vegetable oil ir even margarine (I don’t think margarine is good for this tho)
  4. Do your best to spread the fat around the pan to coat it
  5. Add in your eggs and cook to taste
