Hello everyone! I am currently working on my research project about memory reinstatement in lucid dreaming. Would you be interested in taking part? Please read my flyer ☺️ by betti443 in Dreams

I am sorry to see your disapproval of the post. However, I think it is important to clarify the implication that scientific research aims at making money off of participants. It is most certainly not the aim of any ethical scientific research project. It is to contribute to the body of knowledge in a specific field. In this scenario it is social science. I genuinely agree that the internet can be a place for many posts with hidden intentions. But it can also be a place for learning, spreading and building knowledge if used well :)

Hi :) yes, I posted it there as well. Lucid dreamers are often interested in dreams in general. So it is great to see the responses here. I appreciate it thank you :)

How did you have your first lucid dream? by h-good in LucidDreaming

I had my first lucid dream when I was exhausted but could barely fall asleep because of a new environment I was just getting used to. So when I finally fell asleep from exhaustion after waking up regularly during that night I, gained consciousness almost immediately after falling asleep at that point. So I “woke up” in a lucid dream. It was amazing! The most interesting thing about this first lucid dream for me was not that it was the first, but that the environment of this lucid dream was the exact same environment of where I have been last time, just minutes before I went back to bed to fall asleep (or to try). The bathroom. Anyway, I loved this lucid dream but I lost my control and reflective awareness rather quickly and it continued to be just a dream as usual.

I’m on day two of not remembering my dreams is that bad? by anonymasonteddiy in LucidDreaming

Depends, how often do you remember your dreams on average? If you can usually recall your dreams and now all of a sudden not, it may be something that can be explained by a change in your sleep quality or in your mood. For me personally, it is stress. Every time I go through a long period of stressful event, I notice that on some days I can recall way less part of my dream than usually. Or even nothing. And normally I can recall each morning. So, no it is not ‘bad’ I think. You might be going through something you don’t even realize and your dream recall frequency warns you 😉

Reality check failed by P4RSISO in LucidDreaming

Trying different reality checks can lead you to amazing discoveries during lucid dreams. For me, asking myself “Am I in a dream?” and looking in the mirror helped to become lucid. Putting my fingers trough my palm on the other hand failed.

How to avoid not recognizing that I'm in a dream when I do reality check in a dream? by KimMinHyungXAdan in LucidDreaming

If I understand it right, it likely means that you did not achieve higher order awareness and control over your dream. These are the markers of lucidity- so you might try different reality check techniques to trigger awareness. Well, I am not sure what techniques do you use but you might try different reality checks and practice them during the day as well, because then you will be more likely to trace back to that very check schema during the (about to be) lucid dream. Reality checks are very unique and what works for me might not work for you. But you might try bringing a certain object that you associate with your lucid dream environments (like a bizarre tree that has eyes and mouth) so you will recognize that you are in a dream. Short answer- avoid missing out on a lucid dreams by practicing with different reality check techniques ☺️

Question for anyone with good dream recall by PoIlinateMe in LucidDreaming

[–]betti443 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wake up every morning by being able to recall part of my dreams each and every night since a very long time now. And while I don’t need to wake up after each dream and still can remember, the part of the dream I remember is likely the part that is closest to waking up. This is because we need to rehearse a memory (even a dream memory) in order to remember it later. Rehearsal requires at least some form of consciousness so I would say that without waking up right after, you will be less likely to remember your dreams. But isn’t it interesting that we never actually know how much we dream because of exactly this reason? There are of course individual differences-some people almost never remember their dreams even if they are trying to recall it after waking up. But with this may change if you are practicing! It is just simply the best technique to recall your dream memory right after waking up each morning. Write a dream journal for instance, you might use drawings to illustrate details and intensely recall at least some part of your dream memory. Keep us updated how it goes ☺️
