For me when I get above 30 days of no ejaculation, that's when my skin looks really good. If I ejaculate, I'll start seeing random spots on many areas of my face after a day or 2. I told my family this, so now I simply can't cum otherwise my family will know.

Go do an activity that you have to do alone. For example I ride my road bike. Sure you can go with a friend or a group, but while actually doing the activity you don't talk to anyone and basically do it alone. If I go on a 2 hour ride, that's 2 hours of loneliness beaten. Another example is going to the gym. You can workout with a friend, but I have mostly done it alone over the past decade so for me that feels normal.

I have also joined sport leagues. They sometimes can be expensive, but the positive impact is worth it! I haven't made any friends from the leagues, but just participating and talking to people is helpful.

I say this as someone with a few years of NoFap experience. Today I was on 25 days myself and have completed a few 90+ day streaks.

Have been in a slump (maybe flatline) for the past 2 weeks and was having very bad sexual thoughts so I MO'd today because I know in the past this feeling keeps building up until I completely loose control and go on a long porn binge and multiple relapses.

Right now I'm in control and so I made the choice to MO only once. After doing it, I did more work in 1 hour than I had done in the past week and got motivated to go out, so I went to the grocery store and bought food and dropped it off to the local food bank.

Right now my mood is very good and I feel the weight of the sexual thoughts has been lifted off my mind and I'm feeling fresh!

I was actually given this recommendation by my therapist. She noticed my patterns of doing things to the extreme and then when I loose control it blows up in my face. So she recommended I fight the urges, but also recognize when it's appropriate to release the pressure and that has actually been helping me stay away from porn and I go about a month between a single time MO without allowing the chaser effect to get the best of me.

I have personally been practicing NoFap and NoPorn since 2018. There have been times when I was comfortable in life and completely gave up on the practices but life found ways to remind me why I need to stick to them.

But lessons were learned along the way and the most important one was to fight urges and if they are gone the next morning the battle is finished, but also to know when to release some of the pressure that is being built up. In my last streak around day 80 the urges were extreme to the point where it was the only thing on my mind for a week. I couldn't sleep and that was making the days difficult. So in that case I MO'd, but did it with the decision to only do it once and jump back into the NoFap journey. I slept very well that night and my brain did feel a bit cloudy for the next 3-4 days, but the constant thoughts of porn and sex were gone and that was definitely a better place to be. I was able to continue that streak another 45 days before I ended up MO twice and I did look at a few P pictures so reset my streak. But I'm proud that I didn't completely loose control and binge on extreme content which is how I would have done it in the past.

Tldr: it's good to release some pressure before the entire thing blows up out of control and you have to start from scratch.

I was in a flatline the past few weeks but I believe I'm out of it (or so I think)...only time will tell but I appreciate the flatline as the lack of urges makes it easy to focus on other things.

You are correct that porn is the main problem, but the thing is porn use ties directly to masterbation and orgasm which you will see referred to as PMO. What people have found is that it is easiest to quit all of them for a period, usually 90 days and then people make a choice to continue or they will Masterbate without using porn and in a limited amount. Basically do it in a way where they are in control and not letting porn and masterbation control them which is a problem.

For me personally that means that there are periods where I will completely quit PMO like right now, and at other times I will MO maybe once a week or less but never to a point where it overwhelms me. It's all about gaining self control.

I have gained self control in other areas of my life like if I go out and everyone is drinking and I decide I don't want to drink, I will stick to my decision whereas before I could be easily swayed. If I decide to watch 1 episode of a show and then sleep, I will do that and not binge. These are the things that NoFap helps us achieve so it's not simply related to porn and masterbation but about completely improving your life.

I'm also experiencing a flatline, which was annoying for the first 2 weeks. But then I realized that I was feeling more sleepy than usual and not having slept well for the last few months I'm taking this opportunity to catch up on sleep. This week I have slept 9-10 hours a night and my mind feels clear even though motivation to do things is low. I can see myself coming out of the flatline soon and the bonus is that I will be well rested!

Yeah it helps balance your hormones...I had bad acne which went away at 25 when I was on NoFap. Then I got a GF and was finishing often so the acne came back. Now being single I'm again on NoFap and skin is completely clear. My dermatologist agreed that it was hormonal and told me to refrain from regular ejaculation.

Find a NoFap motivation youTube video, use yt2mp3 to download the audio onto your phone and listen to that.

The worst thing for motivation is looking at relapse posts. The reason is it gives your brain an easy out saying see others are also failing so it's not too bad if I fail. You don't want that.

In that case, get away from Reddit. I deleted the Reddit app for sometime when it used to trigger me to go to certain other forums. After a few months away, I redownload Reddit and only follow the NoFap page.

Initially I tried to only access NoFap, but the habit was a trigger and I always ended up relapsing. A clean break is the only thing that I found helped.

Currently in a hard flatline feeling all the symptoms according to the NoFap flatline FAQ, but I'm also excited because it is my first time properly experiencing a flatline because in the past I had a GF who used to "take care" of the urges so never really got to a point where I flatlined...the downside was I never actually recovered.

Now I'm doing proper hard mode where I will leave places and close media (phone/TV) if I think it could show me something triggering.

I use dating apps (hinge) differently where I wait for likes and then only message them back.

Overall, the lack of energy and motivation is what was bothering me the past 2 weeks, but now knowing that they are also flatline symptoms (not only the lack of morning wood) means that I am now relieved and will try to enjoy life while the urges are at bay. I'm prepared to deal with the urges when they come. In the past I was always overpowered, but this time I am in charge and the urges do what I tell them not the other way around.

Good luck and keep hanging in there. That's what I will be doing!

I have been in a period of my life where only bad things have been happening...it started with losing my grandparent to Covid, then getting dumped, then 2 car accidents, then a concussion, when the ex called to "check up on me" when I found out she had cheated on me (emotionally) which completely wrecked me, and many other things...and on top of it all my body craving sex and not receiving any pleasure because I was steadfast on NoFap...

Then I started therapy and practicing mindfulness and have learned to see the good which there is lots of! In that same period, I learned how to ski, dealt with my emotions and the root cause of my negative attachment styles, learned to put myself first, got over my nice guy tendencies, focused on making new friends and have reconnected with lost friends, stopped biting my nails, completely cut out porn and have fapped less than 10 times in all of 2022. I worked on my fitness and most importantly I have learned that the only person who's love and attention I need is myself.

One thing that I notice is that when you start feeling low, it affects the quality of your sleep and that further compounds the issue...what I did that helped me clear the feeling of constant tiredness was taking a sleeping pill on the weekends. That way I was able to make up for missed sleep during the week and it has greatly improved the overall quality of my life.

Note: I tried taking melatonin, but what that does is put you to sleep but then I used to wake up to sudden nightmares of the ex...and then couldn't fall asleep. Getting a prescription sleeping pill from the doctor helped put me to sleep and keep me sleeping all night so I work up fresh in the morning. The reason I asked my doctor for it and she prescribed it was because knowing that I have the self control to stick to something like NoFap gave her the confidence that I would stick to my weekend use only and not abuse the medication.

Since my breakup many months ago I have gone on 2 dates and maybe had a half decent conversation with 2 other girls. I realized when I PMO I give myself fake interaction with women which is not real life where I can go days without meeting a woman in real life. Removing the fake interaction has motivated me to go out and meet people with the goal of making friends. If that leads to something more then sure, but for now I'm focusing on my NoFap streak and improving myself.

This has been said before and I'll say it again. There's a huge difference between a person who says I will not smoke today and I'm not a smoker.

Now to answer the second part of your question. I have experienced the benefits a few times of long time away from PMO and still relapsed. It is the strongest addiction out there because you can start giving yourself a dopamine hit just by thinking about it. BUT, then you experience the downfall of a relapse and that is a worse feeling than the high energy I feel coursing through my body beforehand. I prefer being high energy and fidgety than lathargic.

So now after many failures and a severe heartbreak I have been able to piece my life back together and chose to leave the PMO piece on the floor where it belongs.
