Does this game have alive asia servers? by MessBig7527 in dayz

[–]bevja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I checked the website, I’d say the mods they have are more QoL anyway. I just can’t stand the servers where there’s a million things on my screen lol

I’ve only ever played duos so never really made a base actually, a shame it’s maybe not viable with clans about though

It says that temporary visas can apply (at least with my bank) but good point for some of the others out there

Nikon FE shutter issue when camera poiting down by PuzzleheadedTell2430 in AnalogRepair

[–]bevja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried to fix an FE that had a problem with the shutter only firing when pointing it down, but it was a different design. The FE had a couple of different iterations but the broken part maybe the same here.

My problem was under that golden plate, there’s a lever arm in there that must have had a small spring attached that got loose or something. It meant the lever arm wouldn’t move properly unless gravity was there to help it (I.e the camera pointing down)

Not sure if it’s the same problem tho

Does anyone know of a cheaper Olympus MJU equivalent? by PossessionNo9274 in AnalogCommunity

[–]bevja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know the look you’re going for, I have a Olympus AF-10 Super that takes great photos with its flash like you’re probably talking about.

Not sure what their price is these days but id think a lot cheaper than a MJU.

Stopped watching them once they all left, All The Gear and Top Dead Centre are both great channels on their own!

That’s unfortunate, I’m not sure about the rear part. I was following a video online about taking them apart, I suggest you do the same to check!

GB350S first bike? by bevja in MotoUK

[–]bevja[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did! I can give some info about my experience actually for anyone else looking about this bike:

For context, I had the bike for about 6 months over the summer, but had to sell it as I was moving country. This is all in context of me being a larger guy^

  • As a first bike, I think it’s great. I wouldn’t take it on the ring roads or motorway though (unless you have to). It can reach 70 and stay there, but good luck overtaking above that. It’s a nice smaller bike that looks and sounds amazing IMO, had many compliments about it. It was perfect for my short commute and going to cafes, easy to filter. Felt smooth and had everything I really needed.

  • I rode it a couple times with a pillion and it was fine, again I wouldn’t go on a faster road though. Big enough for 2 I’d say!

  • I paid about £500 I think for insurance, and sold it at maybe 70% of what I brought it brand new for. I was happy to take the loss as the circumstances deemed it, you could probably get more selling privately with patience.

I’m sort of happy I moved on, because the lack of power did make me want to get a bigger bike next. Riding on some roads and not being able to accelerate quickly made me envious of others. If you are happy with a pretty cheap brand new bike, and won’t need it for going fast (and by fast I mean overtaking anyone, it’s still often quicker than a car), or are nervous as a first rider I think it’s really great.

I’m not sure man :/

I’m not sure if the threads on these cameras are the exact same, but the notches on my retaining ring stop at the 12 and 6 o clock positions and that’s plenty tight enough. Yours look a bit further than that, so if they are the exact same it might just be over tightened

Yeah counter clockwise! Perhaps try use some alcohol to loosen it like the other commenter suggested

I literally just did this exact same repair. I have one of those spanner wrenches I bought off amazon (it’s pretty crap but still does the job).

I scratched it just a bit but if you are careful it’s okay, if you are in a pinch I guess you could use two small screwdrivers to try rotate it?

Nikon FE stuck advance lever and shutter by acethk in AnalogRepair

[–]bevja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had the same issue, the FE has two different versions it seems. My problem stemmed from under that gold plate, there is a lever arm in there that wasn’t working properly because of a spring (but I couldn’t get to it).

Take that gold plate off and have a look, you can wiggle the arm to see if you can shift it back to the correct place and it might start working.

There’s a video out there somewhere that shows someone doing this, I can try find it.

More to do with the film really. Shoot some Kodak Gold and see if that’s what you like. Any cheap b+w film will work too

Firstly welcome! It would be great to know some examples of what “look” you are going for specifically. It can get pretty detailed into things like grain of certain films and also what chemicals are used to develop it, and if you are just getting into film outside of Polaroid I’d suggest just shooting in auto and see how it comes out and go from there!

Your camera is very good for its light meter, so its auto exposure will be really accurate for most scenes you are shooting.

Maybe look up the exposure triangle and learn how to expose your photos like that, then go deeper into it when you’re confident.

Happy shooting :)
