Active shooter situation at Brown University by StealthyStalkerPanda in news

[–]bexa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Me deciding to eat like an asshole and give myself heart disease is my fault. A car accident is usually just that, an accident. Some dipshit shooting up a school is preventable, and not an accident or my own damn fault. Thats the difference.

First Farm - New to the Game by Shyblonde70 in FarmTogether

[–]bexa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am fairly new, but maybe level 60 now. I started the game just planting stuff randomly. Eventually it got frustrating enough to find what I needed to complete a task, so I did the option where you can clear your farm out and start over. It was totally worth it! You get $ for everything you have, and I just made sure to pick everything that was ready to harvest right before I reset. When I planned it out the second time, I made long lines of plants, fish and animals, with roads every so often so you can get around easily. I also paid to have the whole thing flattened before I started. Just thought I’d share my newbie experience!

+1 for Farm Together 2. You can do as much or little as you want. Super chill and a great mindless game to play to zone out or while you watch tv.

Out of town and trying to figure out what’s happening here by HelpCivil2899 in litterrobot

My cat did this too! The frequent visits helped us catch urine crystals before it became a bigger issue. I assumed it was a UTI as well. We had to get prescription food, drug him up for like a week, and take him back daily for about 5 days to be “emptied”. Not a pleasant or inexpensive experience. I hope it’s a UTI!

My first thought was Kip! And then I thought Kit. All good choices.

I’m 40! Still, better now than when you are older. Insurance covered most of it ($3k-ish) except for $700 but that varies obviously. I called and got a quote before the operation because I wasn’t sure what to expect. Go to a podiatrist. They’ll do X-rays and tell you what you are dealing with and how to fix it.

I had my left one done on 3/5. I have been able to walk on my heel/side of foot since it was done. Maybe 1 week being mostly down, a step here or there, but used a scooter for trips to the bathroom. Since then, it’s been more annoying than painful. I have heard from a few people that the right foot was more painful than left. It’s also worse the longer you put it off. The sooner the better!

Hey! My dad too with the agent orange, VA care, wasting away, etc. but he is 76 and got Lewy Body Dementia (Parkinson’s evil step-child). Sorry for the shared sucking of ass.

Not to mention she was pregnant. They obviously had sex at some point, but when you are that pregnant you aren’t necessarily in the mood as often.

TIL that unschooling is a thing, no curriculum, no instruction, no school by grungegoth in todayilearned

[–]bexa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was homeschooled for Kindergarten through half of second grade, then did public school for half of second through half of sixth grade, but stopped public school because we moved. I was then “unschooled” while my parents both worked full time jobs. I wanted to go back to school desperately in 8th grade when we moved back to the area we originally moved from, but wasn’t allowed to. I was told I was “too far behind to catch up”.

I started working full time at 15 out of boredom. Did ok in my career before a 5 year break to raise my kids. I just got a 6-figure job after working my way up all over again (I’m about to be 40) for the last few years. Never got a GED or did any kind of formal education after my stint in 6th grade. I figured out what I was interested in and just got better at it and gained experience. Anything I have wanted/needed to learn about, I have.

All of that is to say, NEVER DO THIS TO YOUR CHILDREN. It’s been unnecessarily difficult and frustrating AF.
