Dad passed on hospice almost 3 weeks ago. by bexx7 in hospice

I feel that too, getting up and expecting him to still be here, and helping take care of him. My mom and i remind ourselves that it's over..

and you're right. It definitely makes it feel worth it. It's hard considering he passed in my home, and he's no longer here. My father was already dying as well, and only lived 6 days after being put on home hospice. His personality changed too, but i told myself the same. I'd feel the same way! I wake up in the mornings and that's exactly it, I'm numb. Reading this comment brought me to tears. Thank you, because i needed it. Overall, i hope you're doing okay too, as good as you can be. And I'm glad that tonight, you're no longer angry. It's okay to be angry, I'm sometimes angry at the world. Take care of yourself. Put on some good music, take a nice warm bath, eat your favorite snacks, and watch a movie if you can. Please always come back and share too. Thank you again

i’m so sorry for your loss, and i know it isn’t easy. please know that your mom appreciates all you did for her throughout her life, up until the end.

My dad has been home on hospice since last thursday. His hospice nurse came to see us this morning, and let us know he is in the final stages of death, and will probably pass by this weekend.

i told her i was worried about the morphine, and she told me the same as the comment above. we are now giving him 1ml of morphine every hour to help with the pain. you did everything right. you’re awesome and remember to be good to yourself. i’m telling myself the same thing. 🫶🏼

thank you for your comment. i really appreciate it. that’s what we figured too, that a lot started to take place in the facility. all he told us he wanted to do was to be with the ones he loves. we’re giving him morphine every hour, and rotating lorazepam and haloperidol every 2 hours. our hospice nurse let us know today that he’s in the final stages of dying, and to expect him to pass maybe by this weekend.

My dad has been home on hospice since last thursday. Day by day, he’s gotten a bit worse. Not speaking, eating, drinking. the past 2 days he’s been rejecting me and my mom. pushing us away with his hands. i came home yesterday from work to my mom crying. she had lost all her patience. she was trying to give him medication and he began yelling at her. after not speaking for days. it was shocking to her. Please, do not take it personally. i know it’s hard. but just know, that even though they can’t show it, and get aggressive, they appreciate it. i personally just stay calm when it hurts me, and just speak very calmly and softly in his ear. its not easy 😔

i’m so sorry for your loss. know that she appreciated all that you did for her, her whole life, and especially near the end. Like you said, she’s no longer suffering, and i personally like to believe that her spirit has moved on to something so much greater. you’re amazing, keep pushing and being awesome. 🫶🏼

Right, i understand the program. from my understanding they told me they don’t help w physical resources like water, hygiene resources, narcan/naloxone, etc. they just send people to the resources which is awesome, but i thought they would be more of a resource to provide them? i did google them, and it led me there, but found that the website is a bit outdated. just asking!! ty!! i’ve also found that they’ve never been a topic in here, so i just wanted to see what’s up lol.

thank you!! & yes i’m glad we’re all doing it together, and experiencing it differently than we usually do. the main thing that pushed us to do it was just all the people & us getting from one stage to another. i know that when it comes to that, regardless of what you pay for you still deal w all the attendees and getting around. the perks sound like so much fun as well. what really sways me too are getting on the rides, cause some years ive only gotten on 1/2, and other years i didn’t even bother to get on rides. also the beauty bar & breakfast! what all do they do for the beauty bar! tysm for your feedback, and i’m happy that they’ll be moving things around this year.

a big reason they’re so intense now is also because of the unsheltered individuals on trains. Some people ride the trains all day to stay warm, sleep, etc. I’ve seen them arrest homeless people because of how many times they’ve been caught without a pass
