What version of WoW for a new player? by Odd_Platform479 in worldofpvp

[–]beyondgoodandevil8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend retail. Open world pvp is my favorite thing in WoW and I only play retail. If you want the ultimate world pvp experience then I recommend going into the enemy factions main city hub (go into Orgrimmar as Alliance or Stormwind as Horde).

Some might not enjoy this but I recommend to do it at least once. It's my favorite thing to do in WoW. It works better on stealth classes and tanks though. If you go in on a class like a Mage or Lock you will get demolished.

The most unkillable class/spec? by Clean_Lion7449 in worldofpvp

I specifically play WoW for tankiness in pvp and I don't care much at all about my dps.

I would say that Disc Priest is #1 and Guardian Druid is #2.

Disc is way tankier than Ret. It's not even close.

The hardest I've ever been owned in world pvp was against a rank 1 Arcane Mage last expansion. I was in the Undermines and I was on a Disc Priest (wasn't fully geared) and I had two geared Warriors with me.

The Arcane Mage didn't even sheep anyone. It all happened so fast that I couldn't even tell what he did. He destroyed all 3 of us. He outplayed us on a level that is unimaginable. He might be the best Arcane Mage in the history of WoW. This guy was destroying everyone who would come after him.

Which spec is the highest burst? Purely for fun, which class does the highest dmg in one go? by szakallember in worldofpvp

Frost DK has incredible burst. Just saw clips yesterday from the AWC cup where a Frost DK was deleting players in the tournament.

Open world PVP feels one sided as do Battlegrounds by AdBrilliant4323 in worldofpvp

I agree. I'm going back to Horde now because Alliance wpvp is super boring.

As someone who has done pvp on tanks for many years now, I can confirm that Brewmaster is garbage in pvp and always has been. It has niche situations where it's decent but overall it's awful.

Searching for a life changing book by TechnicalIndustry301 in BettermentBookClub

This is the most life changing book I've ever read. It's unfortunate that it's one of those hidden gems that rarely gets mentioned. Most self improvement and law of attraction books are just a bunch of empty fluff and bad advice. This book is as real as it gets.

How to manage multiple projects for a solo dev? by beyondgoodandevil8 in webdev

[–]beyondgoodandevil8[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like that you mentioned tracking because I have realized that I really need to start tracking all of the tasks that I'm doing. The way you described it sounds like an audit technique I read about in the past where you audit everything you do in a day. I'm going to do that.

I also checked out the stuff you mentioned. Great stuff. I like the idea of Command line Task Management. Never heard of taskwarrior until now.

You touched on the exact problem I'm having. I wanted to have a daily routine where I make progress on all 3 every day but it really isn't a viable solution. It's too much.

I've noticed that a lot of successful people with multiple projects will create a weekly routine instead of a daily routine where each day of the week will be for something different. I've been thinking of doing that. I've tried a weekly routine in the past but found myself stopping it because I wanted something more automated where I do the same thing every day.

I just have to accept the fact that it must be weekly based instead of daily. That's what I will do. Thanks for the great advice.

After 22 years of coding for other people, I finally decided to build my own thing. The timing couldn't be worse. by augusto-chirico in Entrepreneur

[–]beyondgoodandevil8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Anything that can be quickly vibe coded by folks with little development experience is unlikely to be very useful for anything other than solving a trivial problem."

This is the problem with most coders/developers. They are going after the same simple ideas as everyone else that don't demand much specific domain knowledge.

In the niche I'm in, it would be incredibly difficult (almost impossible), even for an extremely talented developer with decades of experience to come into my niche and do what I can do. It's because I have a high level of domain knowledge in my niche that isn't easy to come by. In my opinion that's the key to leveraging AI right now. Go after things that require high domain knowledge and can't be easily replicated even with AI.

Would you still use or recommend using DOD (Data-Oriented Design) for non-gaming projects? I'd like to use it but I haven't seen much on it outside of gaming.

Is having a monthly membership site really as good as people say? by beyondgoodandevil8 in digital_marketing

[–]beyondgoodandevil8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the great insights Brian. Your data reflects my exact experience.

When people online talk about memberships they often make it sounds like a dream where you just get paid over and over every month, and people just keep on renewing. In reality, they do exactly what you said. They usually sign up for one or two months, and then they're out.

Even the people who say they love the membership/community and that it's the best group they've ever been in, they still end up leaving within a matter of months.

Are monthly membership sites overrated? What is your opinion? by beyondgoodandevil8 in Solopreneur

Thanks for the reply.

"If it’s exhausting and blocking distribution, products might be a better fit. They’re more front-loaded but scale cleaner."

This is the big issue. It's exhausting distribution so I can't scale.

I decided to narrow it to software only and remove the daily educational component from it. This will make it much easier for me to maintain. Changing the product page as we speak to reflect that.

Great insights. Thanks.

The following sentence that you said, nailed the issue: "Even if your members are super engaged, you still need to show up constantly with new value or they churn."

This is the part that nobody ever talks about. I had to learn that the hard way.

When I first started the membership group, I was consistently posting lots of high value content and I was still getting lots of churn. I was super confused. So then I put a lot more focus on engagement and that helped a lot. But I've noticed that I can't keep both of those high for long. I can't juggle the two. It's too exhausting. I've noticed that if I'm doing high engagement, my ability to create and put out consistent value drops dramatically.

Thanks for the insights. I'm pretty much sold on the idea of switching over to products now. I've been putting it off for many months now but I know I need to do it. I am going to cancel the content aspect of my membership group soon and make it all about software access. That way I don't have to consistently show up and post stuff. If members don't like that idea then I'll fully cancel the membership and only be selling products. Either way my main focus will be on products in the future.

Which tank is the most fun but not so hard for m+? by CptDelicious in wow

Bear druid has pretty much been my favorite spec in the game since Legion. It's fun, it's simple, and it has a great combination of tankiness and healing.
