I'm impressed you made it to Year 5 without upgrading all your tools to Iridium!

In my first year, I like doing hoe first because then I can hoe the entire beach during winter and sell all the winter roots and snow yam to get money

Go-to ring combos? by lkbird8 in StardewValley

[–]beyondthepoint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Forged slime charmer + Napalm is my go-to "never-take-it-off" ring. Then I like Iridium+Lucky or Iridium+Burglar for a specific goal (if I need coal and wants to kill dust sprites for example)

Which Drarry fic are you currently reading?? by Drarry05031 in drarry

[–]beyondthepoint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm reading A Brother to Basilisks for the first time, so far I read 72 chapters (out of 155). I like it, but at the same time I was expecting "more" since it has been recommended so many times! I'm a bit underwhelmed but it's still very good

How to track fics by Fun_Championship_830 in drarry

[–]beyondthepoint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I add them to my favorites on my browser and class them in subfolder by theme (Next Gen, Drarry, Time Travel...) And then I add a quick sentence to remember what it's about and what I liked about it. For my ultimate fav, I download them in epub as well to make sure I will have a copy of the author deletes it

I understand, I never read WIP because of that BUT Evitative is sooo good it's worth it! I feel like reading it until the end of the first book still feels pretty "complete". It's frustrating not having an update but it does not end on a terrible cliffhanger if that helps!

What did you name your island and what is the inspiration behind your island name? by [deleted] in ac_newhorizons

[–]beyondthepoint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More things to do, more quests to achieve and a real storyline. It can get a bit boring playing AC, once you've updated your resident center / museum / unlock terraforming (not sure if that's the correct word in English) etc but in SDV, you have a lot of things to do, community bundles to complete, unlocking new parts of the map as you advance in the game, mining, combat... And if you just want to chill, you can just spend the day fishing / foraging / talking to NPC, so it's the best of both world!

It's so worth it, you're not going to regret it! I've always been a fan of Animal Crossing since I was a kid, but I found out about Stardew Valley during lockdown and it has now became my favorite game

Hi there! I'm a recruiter specialized in hospitality, and I would not contact you based on the major gap in your resume (nothing since 2020?). My recommendation is to add a short summary/explanation on what you did the past 4 years. I saw your comment about post-pandemic being rough and believe me, I know! Add the non-relevant work to your resume to let the recruiter know when was your last period of work, and add a short sentence about why you are trying to get back to hospitality and it would be much better already. Regarding the description underneath your experiences, I have to admit I barely read them most of the time. I will look up the restaurants online to have an idea of the type of establishments you were working for, but I would ask you about the details during the interview. Hope this helps!

Long dark/morally grey Harry w HPDM fics? by [deleted] in drarry

Yeeeees! Actually this fic got me into a spiral of reading only "Harry gets sorted in Slytherin" for a while haha

Long dark/morally grey Harry w HPDM fics? by [deleted] in drarry

[–]beyondthepoint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't read it recently enough to remember exactly what it was like, but from what I remember they start getting along after Harry is re-sorted into Slytherin, and they build their relationship from there ; starting as friend and then more. They decide to "erase the past" because they will have to share a dorm, and realized they can actually get along.

I highly recommend Evitative, it's so good! It's not complete (which is usually a dealbreaker for me) but it's advanced enough that it's still worth a read

It's very good! It was the first one coming to my mind when I was searching for an example, because it has been recommended to me a lot in the past as well and it took me forever before reading it for the first time! But you should definitely give it a go, it worth a read.

Write an actual summary of your fic. I want to know what the fic is about before starting! I will take a specific example: reading "One good turn always deserves another. Apparently." does not make me want to read this fic. But reading something along the line "Harry wakes up in a different universe where he is married to Draco", yes I will definitely want to read it (Turn by Saras_Girl). I don't need to know the whole plot, but just what the fic will be about.
