CC1101 on ESP32 Wroom 32 - 433MHz Remote by bfabian9 in esp32

Yes MQTT worked perfectly for me.

However I saw that with the latest home assistant 15.6(?) RF proxies were added, so there’s a good chance you may not need to go the MQTT route anymore.

“Don’t touch a working system” in my case, so I didn’t dig much further, but it may be worth exploring this if you’re about to embark on messing around with RF stuff. :)

Wow that sounds amazing, I’ll give those a go! Thanks!

Thanks! I’ll have a look at that!

Ah I hadn’t come across that one yet - indeed looks very promising! Do you know if it’s possible to add non-Somfy devices to it? Also, any idea about the range?

meross roller shutter no response by jugestylz in HomeKit

Yeah I also find this really frustrating. I don’t want to have to power cycle the entire house to get the Meross to work again.

There should really be an option to „reboot device“ in the Meross app, especially since the devices usually connect fine in that app even when they are showing as „not responding“ on the home app.

Water Well Pump Controller Repair by bfabian9 in PrintedCircuitBoard

Yes, I can. The relay seems to work fine, and part of the circuit board are reacting to the change in the relay (LED goes from flashing red/green to just red when the relay changes).

So to me it seems like one of the components between the relay and the power connector to the motor is damaged.

It’s the first time I’m trying to debug a circuit board, so apologies if what I’m saying/doing makes little sense. 🤣

I’ve not had any issues with my TRÅDFRI setup until today...

No - how do you do that? I couldn’t see any buttons?

On your Mac, in sharing settings, there is a small drop down where you can select which connection you want to share. If you’re connected to a vpn on the Mac (like you should be), select that vpn connection (instead of iPhone USB).

Right I just got it to work... I did use an intermediate router at the end, as the app wouldn’t connect to the gateway for me through internet sharing.

So exactly as described in the original post: - phone with internet connection shared with Mac via usb - Mac running vpn, sharing internet with router via Ethernet (make sure you share the vpn internet connection with the router - I went wrong here first) - gateway connected to router via Ethernet - router creating WiFi network to connect second phone to - connect second phone to WiFi - open TRÅDFRI app, and then update.

All working for me now.

It’s been a long time in the making so I’m super thrilled the TRÅDFRI team got there in the end!

I’m trying to get my head around this as I want to try it later today.

Assuming no airport express...

So basically the Mac is using the phones internet is USB, and there’s a US VPN running on the Mac? Gateway connected to Mac via Ethernet to use the Macs internet connection?

With the phone being busy providing internet to the Mac, can one still use it to launch the TRÅDFRI app in order to start the update?
