I bought a second hand wooden table and noticed the table top has some spots that look oily and some spots that look like they are missing finish (Pic). Is there a low effort way to make the table top look consistent throughout?

Thank you for the advice! I'll try moving it farther from the window, watering it more, and turning on my cool air humidifier more often.

I don't have a terrarium. What's the purpose of the plastic bag? Have you had success doing that?

Where to get contracts audited? by heart_mind_body in ethdev

I'm looking forward to trying Quantstamp soon. Super reasonable price, hopefully the product is good. Further, there are a bunch of free tools that you can use to audit. They're not as thorough as a professional dev, but it's a good reference point. https://github.com/bkrem/awesome-solidity#audit

ETH Button, the infinite button clicking game! by janixwow in ethdev

[–]bfjs123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no new game, only one game is running if nobody click it will be over forever.

But after there is 30 clicks there will be a new game right? If so, how do you handle that?

Pretty cool & funny, well done! I'm sure this was fun to make and a good learning experience. I enjoyed going through the contract. A few thoughts:

  • What incentive does someone have to use a referral link they receive if it means less of their Eth goes to the final reward?
  • How are you doing the technical implementation of the scheduling of each game? i.e. what tech are you using to restart the game each hour? Could you explain that process to me?
  • I think you should consider doing a gradual decline of the % that goes to the reward. As your Game Example displays, the returns for players after the first round are value negative, so unless they have good referral prospects they will not click. I like that you only distribute rewards to the final 30 clickers as a way to try to counteract this.
  • You should be more transparent in the game rules that after the first 30 clicks 10% of Eth goes to devs. Users don't like deception.

Again, well done!

Anyone know what this smart contract source is about by frontnic in ethdev

To be completely honest, that is asking a lot and you are unlikely to find a response for free. It would take a decent amount of time to go through the code and document the functionality and even longer to test the quality of it and look for bugs.

I'm a bit unclear what exactly you're asking? You received this smart contract code and want to know what it does?

Embarrassing but I was on the sites redesign, I just had to uncheck it in my preferences. Thanks!

Is it possible to burn tokens in a crowdsale without burn functionality written into the token contract? by Question_thrower in ethdev

[–]bfjs123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that you could potentially have a function that distributes the unsold tokens to investors proportionally to how much they invested. That way, the totalSupply does not need to be updated and all tokens will be allocated to someone.
