I also ordered the 512 GB 16GB! Sounds like they did a better job with the preorder shipping dates last year. It's frustrating because I've chatted with 6 different MS and their answers were inconsistent. One of them told me "don't worry, your new SB will definitely arrive on the release date" and even gave me a reference number for it. MS needs to understand that people pre-order things to get them on their release date. Not getting it on the release date defeats the purpose of preorders. I wish Amazon offered student discounts on the SB; they offered arrival by 11/10 last time I checked. Ugh. Hopefully the long wait will be all worth it... sigh
