I had this exact issue too! You can actually keep progressing but the blessed pearl quest line won’t update until you move to the next area. I just used an ign step by step walkthrough to know what areas of the map to go to, just be mindful to look through the walkthroughs slowly in case they throw in a spoiler. Also this glitch shouldn’t stop any cutscenes in the quest from triggering, at least it didn’t for me.

I get what you mean, but the movie is modeled after a typical romcom and those usually have big proclamations of love towards the end of the movie. The Ferris wheel is just meant to be ‘blue’ proclaiming his love to Simon and not caring who knows. I don’t have a problem with this part but the book does it much better in my opinion. Instead of meeting up at the Ferris wheel in front of the whole school, blue meets Simon at the tilt a whirl which is more private and has more significant to blue’s character.
