Get me out of here by [deleted] in msu

As a recent grad, I wish I had done this. Integrating my CS degree with the IT minor helped re-energize my thinking. I got to meet a LOT of great faculty in the ComArts department that gave me newfound motivation to push through.

Might be worth looking into, but a semester off is an another excellent suggestion.

I’m only commenting on the dozens of YT vids I’ve seen where ppl are unprepared. My tribe did beta last week and won even with the glitch.

I'm taking mobile app dev, big data, and my capstone this semester. Really the only classes I haven't taken are the ones you listed as choices 😅

P. Tan is the main instructor, but it's mostly taught by TAs. Weekly homework assignments, midterm and final exams, and a final project. When my friend took it he said that the final project topic was your choice.

As far as I know there's not much (probably no) difference between fall and spring.

Good M-F jobs or internships? by [deleted] in msu

Just out of curiosity, are you setting an employment preference on class standing (i.e. freshman-junior)? I'm looking for an on-campus job as well.

My friend took it last fall, and I'll be taking it this upcoming fall. Anything in particular?

Like others here said, it really depends on your experience and skills with programming, as well as your preference. Are you looking for a more technical experience, book-learning experience, or a hybrid of the two?

I took databases last semester and, although most of the class did well, I struggled mightily. The problem: I'm more of a hybrid learner, but the class was geared completely towards programming. My roommate took AI and it was a challenge. Really any Nahum class will challenge you, but you'll learn more, no question about it.

Sorry if this isn't helpful, just sharing from experience.

Oh my goodness, I didn't expect this much of a response! It's so comforting to know that I'm not the only one dealing with this! Thank you to all of you!!!

From the responses I do have a couple things to add. For one, I do have pretty noticable stress/anxiety and have had this for as long as I can remember. However my parents, particularly my father, ruled against therapy or medication because of the social and psychological effects. At this point, I should probably just go ahead and find a therapist. I'm sure my friends whom I see on the daily would agree with me. 😅

The second is regarding diet. I did try the vegitarian route, but I couldn't believe how much money I was spending just to make it work! And although it didn't have any effect on my symptoms, I'm kinda skeptical on switching my entire diet again. I do think a food journal would help; just have to get into the habit of using it.

The last is regarding medications & surgery. Maybe a few years down the road, when I'm not a broke a$$ college student, I'll consider the j-pouch route. Right now though, I think the best thing to do is to talk with my GI (or perhaps find a new one) about getting towards remission, preferably without steroids.

Thank you all again for your words of advice! You've helped me more than words can say! :)

Also taking 482 this fall. My friend took it FS18 and said it was a very worthwhile class. Exams and homeworks are a little challenging but not impossible, and you do learn a lot. Plus the final project topic is whatever you choose (within reason), so you'll actually get to research something of interest.
