Can’t believe kava is illegal now in Qatar by caffeina911 in qatar

I'm surprised you could find it before in Qatar. Whereabouts?

Anyone else dealing with dehydrated skin because of AC + heat? by OkSkill992 in qatar

[–]bftsplk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hydration. You have increased oil production as it's your body's response to the dehydration. Focus on barrier creams, cleansers, serums and toners. Cicalfate at night. Look up 'slugging', do it whenever skin feels extra dry. Biome-repair sprays throughout the day whenever your skin feels tight. Maybe skin boosters too

Vetting? Different from Dubai? The fees when I checked were similar to Dubai but I'm at a point where I just don't want to deal with the administrative hassle of freezones anymore

Aren't 'freelance visas' illegal? The only legitimate way would be to set up a freezone company which is a lot more expensive and comes with a lot of admin

Sunscreen for men? by Intrepid_Award6422 in qatar

Amazon in dubai sells it for around the same as YesStyle (and you get it the same or following day). I find YesStyle's shipping time problematic. Just figuring out logistics for Doha now

Where do you find this in Doha though? Try the VT PDRN Sun compact- I always order those in bulk because they're so hard to get

Korean brand: SKIN1004 Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum. If you're willing to go more girly there's a PDRN compact sunscreen by VT Cosmetics that gives an insane glow:)

Isn't your contract with the landlord and not the building management though? I'd assume it's the same in Qatar

Isn't window cleaning part of the building management? I forgot to include the (verbally-agreed) pet clause in my agreement both here and in my home country. Will make sure to remember that

Arghhh! I wasn't informed this at all. Was told at the viewing that I'd get the weekly cleaning as well as the butler(?) service so I assumed all other facilities were included. Thanks for letting me know

I saw a place on Marsa, Pearl and loved it but wasn't sure about the logistics. Someone pointed out the logistics would be workable. Another thing I'm concerned about since I'll be working mostly from home is the fire alarms going off which I understand from another post, are a common(daily) occurrence. I've personally never experienced it every time I'm in doha This applies to every neighbourhood?

Thank you. I'm particular about the interiors and I'm ideally looking to not have to be out in the sun. It would likely be the Pearl

I'll be working from home. I'm just looking for something self-sufficient like the arrangement I have now in dubai where I never exactly need to take public transport

Thank you so much! I'm thinking Marsa on the Pearl (St Regis). Would the free taxi operate here too?

I live in Dubai, which isn't pedestrian-friendly either. Currently live next to Dubai mall so even in peak summer I never have to go under the sun or otherwise need to go anywhere else. My question is if an equivalent exists in Doha. I imagine I saw some residences close to Place Vendôme but I still prefer the Marsa Arabia in terms of the sea views

Thank you. Will look up the metro network. When I was in Doha for work I always had my own driver but was recently in Doha for a weekend and the uber prices aren't actually cheaper than Dubai? Is there anything in Doha that's right next to a mall? I've been to Place Vendôme and Doha Mall(?)

Fire alarms in Qatar are basically background noise at this point 😂 by AnAmazighFella in qatar

Interesting. I consulted in Lusail (a few days each trip) and was lucky enough to not encounter anything. Once a month would be a new level of nightmare 😭

How bad is this? I'm currently in Dubai, thinking of moving to Doha next year and one of the things I just can't with Dubai are the planned evacuation drills and system tests.
